More Bosque Del Apache NWR

November 16, 2013

Linking up Camera Critters and I'd-Rather-b-birdin
I hope you are joining in and posting your birds and critters.

Can you believe half of November is over already? Gee, the days are just flying by. Pretty soon it will be Thanksgiving, time to prefer for the big family Thanksgiving day dinner.

Above are some of the birds we saw while visiting the Bosque Del Apache wildlife refuge: the large photo is the Sandhill Cranes, top right is the Roadrunner, Gambel's Quail, White-Crowned Sparrow, Bottom left is a Marsh Wren, Snow Geese, female Northern Harrier and a couple of Killdeer.

 Neat reflection of the Killdeer.

A Sora not far from the boardwalk trail. The Sora is a small waterbird, breeds in marshy areas.

Pepe le Pew thankfully running away from us, as we headed back to our car.

Cute bunny also seen near the boardwalk trail.

Female Northern Harrier showing off its owlish looking face. The male Harrier is grey and is called the Grey Ghost. I hope you enjoy my birds and critters from the Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge.

Thanks for stopping by and  I wish everyone a happy weekend.
To see more beautiful photos and cute critters
please visit:  Camera Critters and I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious hosts Misty Dawn of Camera Critters and to Anni of I'd Rather-B-birdin.

Happy weekend to too, Eileen. It's a nice image of the Sora, and Pepe made me grin!

I think they have Pepe Le Pews just about everywhere. That one certainly has a lot of white on it. Glad it was leaving!

Have a wonderful weekend!
We are stuck in the house here--it's opening weekend of shotgun deer hunting. The woods are FULL of hunters. No outdoor time for us for a few days--it's not safe!

Hey you had me guessing there for a second Eileen until I googled Pepe Le Pew and realised what was running away. We don't get those fellas here, you can keep them. Great image of the Sora - once saw one on the Isles of Scilly UK! Have a great weekend.

I love the killdeer. Used to see them all the time as a kid but not as much these days. And yes it's crazy how close Thanksgiving is. Only 11 more days!

I enjoyed them all very much Eileen. The Northern Harrier is certainly amazing looking. Wow to see one in front of you like that and so close...magnificent. I so wanted to see Quails and I did, but only once as they flew over a fence. Beautiful collection of memories shared~

I love how you captured the harrier 'framed' in the tree branches!!! That's a beauty.

And pepe le pew..cute!!!

I spotted a Sora last Spring and when I saw it, I didn't know what it was. I do now, and will never forget its name.

I'm glad Pepe le Pew decided to leave rather than give you a 'present'. I am glad that the bunny stayed around long enough for you to get the picture. Your bird photos are marvelous, as usual. I really like the reflections of the killdeers you captured.
