I am linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes
The Brant Goose seemed to be a common bird seen in the winter months along the Jersey Shores. We saw them while visiting Barnegat Lighthouse Beach and also at Edwin Forsythe NWR.
I personally find them to be more attractive than the Canada Goose.
Some photos are from the Barnegat Lighthouse beach and the shots below are from the Edwin Forsythe NWR
I hope you enjoyed my Brant Goose post.

Marvelous photos of this special goose. Amazing ! I like the first both shots most. So close and sharp.
ReplyDeleteBest regards, Synnöve
They are beautiful ! Have never seen such a kind of geese !
ReplyDeleteI agree that it's prettier than the Canada Goose, though it's hard for me to feel any love for introduced birds so maybe that's where my Canada Goose disdain comes from.
ReplyDeleteI am always so surprised by the coastal waterfowl in the Northern Hemisphere - ducks, geese and swans are not common sights in saltwater where I live in Australia.
The white collar is attractive!! Now, I need to see one of these myself in person. LOL
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Eileen.
The Brant Goose is so cute! I like it!
ReplyDeleteThe geese look really beautiful and adorable !
ReplyDeleteYes I do think I love them more than Canadian Geese. They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen!!!The Brant Gooses are so beautiful birds!!Excellent shots!!Great captures!I really enjoyed your wonderful pictures!Have a happy new week!!Hugs!

ReplyDeleteOh Eileen, your photographs are stunning! Brant Goose post is awesome and goodness, they are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely one! I learn so much from people, like yourself, that have different critters from ours.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
(ツ) from Cottage Country Ontario , ON, Canada!
I've never seen a Brant Goose. They really are pretty!
ReplyDeleteI think they're more attractive too. Are they just as messy though? I have this love-hate relationship with Canada Geese, because we share our RV Park (and walkways) in Oregon with them. But I do love to see them flying over the lake -- and love to see the families after the babies hatch.
ReplyDeleteThey look so cute :-) and lovely shots -- so perfectly clear, nice color and composition. I was trying to understand the difference between these geese and Canada geese -- they look so similar. I guess the Canada geese do not have such darkish neck, right?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of the geese.
ReplyDeleteVery well photographed, Eileen.
My favorite is the first picture.
They are really pretty!
ReplyDeletehow cool. like they're wearing black stockings on their heads/necks. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are some nice-looking geese! Happy day!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen them. They are very handsome.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty geese... We have Canada Geese here (tons of them)--but I've never seen a Brant Goose before.. They are prettier.
ReplyDeleteFoggy morning here on the Cumberland Plateau. Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy

I've never seen a Brandt goose, even when I lived in NJ! Or maybe I did and just assumed from a distance that they were Canada Geese. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, lovely to see the blue water and the goose enjoying themselves.
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty with their black heads. Looks like the dipped their heads in a bucket of black paint. : )
ReplyDeleteThe Brant Goose is very handsome indeed.
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy your geese, we get a few in the UK during winter, but I haven't seen one yet.

Although it seems like it was a dull day, I think the light in last pic in quite beautiful!

ReplyDeleteYes, I do like your brant goose post, Eileen. Thank you! More familiar with the black brant goose along the northwest coast, which has a white ring around the neck.
ReplyDeleteThis is one goose I have not seen yet. What an elegant looking bird!
