I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
For this week's post I am sharing more scenery and birds from our Oct 12th visit to Bombay Hood wildlife refuge in Delaware.. I know I have been flip-flopping with different post from this getaway weekend. We saw some beautiful fall colors, lots of birds and some flowers were still blooming.
Above are some of the birds we saw at Bombay Hook NWR were the Snowy Egret, Savannah Sparrows, Lesser Yellowlegs, American Avocets, Peregrine Falcon, Pintail Ducks, Snow Geese, Ruddy Ducks and the Belted Kingfisher.
The fall colors seen at Bombay Hook, the red were gorgeous...
A Great Egret flies away, in the distance some red leaves poking out and on the top of the trees.
I thought these yellow flowers were pretty, nice to still see some blooms in October. I hope you enjoyed seeing more of Bombay Hook wildlife refuge..
As always I thank you in advance for stopping by and for the nice comments.
I hope you can join in on our at Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
Thanks to Judith our host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer. I wish everyone a happy week ahead!
the colors are beautiful. love your birds, too. the savannah sparrows are cute and the kingfisher is plucky. :)
ReplyDeleteMuito lindo tudo! ótima semana! bjs, chica
ReplyDeleteLoved every bit of this post, Eileen. The birds are always interesting and the fall colors are really rich and warm. Have a great week. Jo
ReplyDeleteWhat a bevy of neat birds and foliage here today ~ I loved seeing the kingfisher as they are one of my fav birds !
ReplyDeleteWonderful colours Eileen, I see fall is still in your photos. As we drove through the grasslands of Saskatchewan all the fields are dried cut hay all the same colour and aside from the grain elevators the colour would have stayed the same.
ReplyDeleteLove the fall color shots! Autumn is a beautiful season.
ReplyDeleteWell done mosaics keeping to a single theme in each one with nicely colored borders or background. I visited Bombay Hook once long time ago; your pics bring back good memories. I especially like the boardwalk with the fall colors and the great egret
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty shots, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful fall scenes! Looks like you had a great weekend away.
ReplyDeleteI love the sweetness of the Savannah Sparrows - and how nature protects them by coloring them the same soft brown as the brush they shelter in. Your photos are lovely!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are a treat. Makes me want to go out bird-watching, although in the pouring rain we are having...maybe I'll just look at your pics. :)
ReplyDeletePretty mosaics!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week!

ReplyDeleteOh the joy of accompanying you on a 'birding' jaunt would be heaven for me Eileen. The Bombay Wildlife Refuge is living up to it's name and purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe snowy Egret are magnificent, such graceful birds.
The Autumn colours are gentle with pops of bright red and yellow!
A perfect day.
Lovely birds and gorgeous fall scenery...who could ask for more!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the one of the field and the walkway of some sort stretching out ...lovely.
The Kingfisher is my personal favorite and those tiny yellow flowers resemble an annua I have planted in my beds!!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteWonderful mosaics, and above all great images. Love the pier shot!

I recognize the kingfisher quite well, a female was diving in the pond for goldfish a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI think the yellow wildflowers look like coreopsis, they sure are pretty.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday Eileen. You are my biggest supporter for visiting all the participants and I know they appreciate it as much as I do.

What a great place to see birds, and fall color. I always love to see the egrets, and the belted kingfisher is so cute, unless it is fishing in your backyard pond.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of the Great Egret.....the weather looks beautiful, blue skies and blue water!

Ruby
This looks like a beautiful place to visit, and the birds obviously love it too :) Wendy x
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful place. The colors show fall is the perfect time of year to visit.
ReplyDeleteI love the vibrant colors, Eileen. Those reds just knock your socks off. And I am lusting for blue skies again now that our winter gray has arrived in Seattle!
ReplyDeleteGreat collages, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThe egret's wings look like a nun's hat!

Your blog is always so beautifully presented. It's great to see the red of the leaves as its not something we see in Australia except where trees have been planted in gardens and properties.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of birds, Eileen. You take such great pictures. It's so lovely to see the fall colour and all the birdlife.
ReplyDeleteOOPS, it appears the blogosphere ate my first comment which basically said, Wow! to those stunning autumn colors! A beautiful post.

ReplyDeleteGreat photos and a beautiful, sunny day too!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photographs, your blog is such a feast for the eyes.
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed your post today and all the birds you get to take so many pictures of. I want to say the kingfisher is the bird in the bottom right hand corner with the long beak? I don't know but I would guess he would have to have this sort of attitude to fish. So much wildlife is just another way to enjoy what mother nature has to offer, thanks
ReplyDeleteI hope I get to visit some of the places where you bird someday!
ReplyDeleteWow...beautiful, beautiful photos...love that walkway to nowhere!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, So nice to see the big numbers of birds and ducks! I especially like the little Ruddy Ducks. I miss seeing ducks often. We do have a few here in the Winter and I look forward to their arrival. Have an excellent day today!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful! And my favorite is that second mosaic. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to walk. Boardwalks in the autumn are my cup of tea. We have 1 or 2 here in AZ but they are too buggy to enjoy right now. As soon as the temps go down, they will be perfect to explore again. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully Eileen, you many birds but also your landscapes and colors of nature. I always find this very beautiful to see and take also of this:-) Have a nice week.
