Linking up with Skywatch Friday and Good Fences
These are photos from Columbus Day weekend, hubby and I went on an overnight trip to the Delaware shore and Ocean City, Maryland.. I am sharing a shot of the sunset at Bombay Hook NWR, the next morning we drove down the coast to Ocean City, Maryland. Also, some fences that were on the beach for Tex's Good Fences and of course sky captures for Skywatch Friday..
I always love to see the bird houses lined up on fences.. And the sky was beautiful on this shot.
I was not sure if these were Fish Crows or maybe the Boat-tailed Grackle?
These birds above were seen on a fence at the Indian River Inlet, Delaware
An unusual sight at Ocean City, Md the photo above has more birds than people.
A mixed flock of Black Skimmer, maybe Royal Terns and lots of gulls.
The sky and fence on the Ocean City beach.. The kite shop always has some kites outside their store..
Assorted colors of beaks, legs and on their bodies..
I just love the Black Skimmers, they are cool looking birds with their neat looking bill.
Another view of the fence, beach, kites, Great Black Backed Gulls and a gray sky..We had a fun time on our little getaway trip.. I love the beach.. I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.
To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit Skywatch Friday
and check more fence shots at Tex's Good Fences
Thanks to Tex @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences and to Sylvia, Yogi and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday. I wish everyone a safe and happy long weekend.

ReplyDeleteTomás.
I love those Skimmers and would love to see them in the wild. Love the fence shot.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good trip with a variety of subjects. I think I'd go for Grackles because of the tails and general shape, but haven't seen Fish Crows!
ReplyDeleteA lovely sunset shot Eileen. I'm impressed with Ocean City and your pictures of mixed gulls and terns as it looks a great place to sort through the flocks and pick up a number of species. I'd love to see your skimmers as we have none of those here.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your week.
Wonderful series of photos Eileen. I agree with you about the black skimmers. They are very cool looking birds. Gorgeous sunset at Bombay Hook also. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove that top photo and the skimmers as well---they are neat looking. I've never seen those before.
ReplyDeleteI notice that some of the fences seem to make enclosures. Is this to protect the breeding habitat of endangered species?
ReplyDeleteMares sempre me encantam e suas aves por lá igualmente!Adorei! bjs, chica

ReplyDeleteThose were wonderful. I love the beach and the fences there look fantastic. Especially enjoyed the little bird houses. Also great shots of all the sea birds.
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with those sand dune fences; one of the things I took a zillion pictures of when we got to travel up the East Coast that one time.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great weekend getaway!
What beautiful shots - love the sky shots. There are so many things to like in this post. What are the fragile looking fences for on the beaches?
ReplyDeleteI was amazed at how close those huge building are to the beach. I suppose that in the summer the beach is a favorite spot of vacationers.
I love the birds and especially those in the same picture with the Black Skimmer, the ones that look like they have little black ears. Great post.
Beautiful shots, I love your pics of the empty beaches.
ReplyDeleteI love the fence on the beach, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteAll are beautiful photos.
Thanks for sharing your joy with us.
Peace :)
The last time I was at Ocean City, Maryland was in 1987. Enjoyed your photography. Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is gorgeous! And, I love all the bird houses on the fence.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the cyber tour of the beach. It is strange how there are more birds than people but so it is. My favorite of the series is the Skywatch Friday shot of the sky. Awesome!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots, Eileen! The first photo took my breath away!
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful sky shots again, Eileen, I specially love the photo of the birds flying above the sea. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteWish I had bee there too! Looks like a magical spot.
ReplyDeleteThere are birds everywhere.
ReplyDeleteNo fences can hold them back.
That is a very beautiful sky on the first picture. The beach and the seagulls are great views too. Sometimes I like when I see falling/leaning fences along the beach. It makes me think that there must have something there before. Some cottage or another, there must have been people who'd put them on purpose. It just make me think...
ReplyDeleteThese are all great captures, but the third and fourth are absolutely perfect!
ReplyDeleteYour lovely photographs of Ocean City brought a smile to my face, Eileen. My late husband and I had a lovely time there once. Happy memories. xxx ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteA beautiful series of captures and I love the birds and sunset.

ReplyDeleteThese are such beautiful photos, Eileen! It must have been a wonderful time! I love the little birdhouses <3. I think the beach this time of year is the best - more wildlife, less people :) Enjoy your weekend. xo
ReplyDeleteYour opening sky shot is a beauty!! I like the reflection.
ReplyDeleteThose look like Grackles to me. The fish crow looks just like an ordinary crow, but he croaks out uh-uh instead of caw.
ReplyDeleteAnother group of beautiful photos! The first time I went to Ocean City, I was amazed at how many people were on the beach.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and beautiful scenes at the seaside :) Greetings :)
ReplyDeleteLove the first one most
ReplyDeleteThat first picture with the golden glow is wonderful to see. I can also really look at it for hours and enjoy. Your beach photos are all very nicely done:-)
