My mish-mash

I have a list below of memes I am joining for this week, and to save time I am doing one post for all. They are all fun memes to participate in...I hope you can join in with the fun  and check out some of the participating posts. Special thanks to all the wonderful host and their memes, I hope you have some time to check them out.

I am sharing a mishmash of images.  On these cold winter days I enjoy walking on my treadmill in the warm house. I can watch the birds out the window as I walk. On one day I found a new bird for my Treadmill bird list, it was the Fox Sparrow.

The Fox Sparrow was a new bird for my treadmill window sightings. They are pretty sparrows, with lovely colors.

My list of treadmill birds below is growing, I am up to 25 now. I may have missed one or two. I have photos of most of them, just for my records and some I have already blogged about.

Updated Feb 9th, my latest Treadmill window bird was this Field Sparrow. He/she was hanging out with a big group of White-throated Sparrows.

Various sky shots from my yard and deck.

  15. So much to be impressed with in this post Eileen! The beautiful photos, the number of wonderful birds you have in your yard, the fact that your home is arranged so that you can see them while you exercise, and last but not least the fact that you can walk the treadmill, take pictures, and think about the fact that you are seeing a new bird (and even to be able to identify the ones you've seen before) and all that without falling off the treadmill!! I am positive I would fall and break my neck if I thought about anything but the treadmill.

Thank you so much for sharing the beauty!!!

  34. Amazing how many different birds there are--even on your treadmill list! Love that! You have beautiful scenery to look at right from your windows.

    ReplyDelete
  35. What amazes me is the identifying of this or that sparrow because while I know that some look different from others when they are all together in a flock here as they usually are I just think 'sparrows' :) Lovely shots as usual ! :)

  36. I am admiring your treadmill birds, such a variety, many of which we do not have here. I admire, too, that you actually use your treadmill. Mine sits next the bed and I am trying desperately to make friends with it. I think because we are on the prairie and not near or in a wooded area, we don't get the variety of song birds.

  37. Amazing skies....love all the birds too!
    Happy Mosaic Monday!

  76. Your bird photos are fun, Eileen, the Fox Sparrow looks sleepy. The Screech Owl is a real stand-out, they are such darling birds. I used to see them in the trees at night near the lamps on my college campus. I can't ever seem to see them hear, though I could hear one making identity inquiries yesterday.;-)

  77. Wow! You are a pro birder. I love the name Fox Sparrow. That is a very cute name (and bird).

  80. You've seen a lot of birds from the treadmill. Somehow, I'm picturing you on the treadmill with binoculars!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Love your birds, Eileen. And I am not even a 'bird person.' You have a nice place for them to hang our, that lovely woods next to you. There are less and less places for a lot of birds to live.
Thank you for peeking in on my KP's cat picture.
She was so proud! So was I. Her big sister, BP, is very good with drawing, it will be hard for KP is she tries to live up to her. I bought them both drawing books but hadn't given KP her first yet.

  82. You have an impressive list for the treadmill Eileen. The Fox Sparrow is a real beauty with that well marked breast and "foxy" colouration. I didn't manage to get any pictures of our full moon last night even though I woke up at 3am and the moonlight was brightening the bedroom.

  83. Not a bad mish mash I would say! Many people would be delighted.
