Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and Happy President's Day!
The Eastern Bluebird couple, male on the left and female on the right.
In the spring and fall I can usually see the Rose-Breasted Grosbeak couples stop in my yard to refuel.
I am seeing the Purple Finches now, the male is a pretty raspberry color.
The Eastern Towhee, male on the left and female on the right.
The Scarlet Tanagers are breeders in the woods next to my house. They seem to love the blooms on our Crepe Myrtle bush.
I am looking forward to seeing Mr and Mrs Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrive back in my yard.
The pretty Cardinals are a lovely couple.
The Pileated Woodpeckers, the male is one left with the red moustache and the female is on the right.
The Red-Bellied Woodpecker, male on the left and female on the right side of the photo.
The Downy Woodpecker, again the male is on the left and female on the right.

Good morning to you Eileen. you do have some wonderful visitors to your yard. I'm hard pushed to name a favourite from your super pictures but I think it has to be the Pileated Woodpecker, closely followed by those Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.

Good morning and happy Saturday Eileen. What lovely feathered friends you have for us. I need to catch a few of my incoming birds around here. I had a gorgeous Cardinal the other morning, but he was too far out for my camera to be any good, but the color was so RED! Enjoy your weekend.

you are seeing such a wide variety of birds, i don't see all of these. although bluebirds are in my area, i never see them in my yard. i don't see grosbeaks or purple finches either. i had a towhee once, during winter, a few years ago and never saw one again.

What an amazing collection of photos. My third grade teacher taught our class all about birds and put feeders outside our classroom windows. That is a great memory.

I think the biggest thrill for me would be to see a scarlet tanager Eileen. I miss doing our winter bird count but I like being warmer for the month of February.

Woodpeckers and Flickers...hard to tell the difference..Your woodpeckers look like the Flicker in your header?..All those birds hang out at my feeders as well..I have lost the Bluebirds.The only seed I have out is Safflower..It doesn't reseed as easily..We have a ton of Robins around lately..Happy Valentines Day..

I love all of these lovely birds and I also see most of them in my yard, with a few exceptions...the Eastern Bluebird is around here but I rarely see them in my yard. I have never seen the Pileated Woodpecker but would love to! Great captures, Eileen!

Your wonderful bird couples are so terrific, Eileen, it's great to see the females with the more colorful males, they aren't always easy to identify. I have the Pileated Woodpeckers in my yard, I even heard one today.
I am really jealous of the colorful visitors you have in your yard. And you have captured them beautifully with your camera.
