Saturday's Critters #121
These are some of our local feeder birds on my deck and in the woods. All of these shots are taken thru my dining room window. LOL, it is my excuse for not having a clear and completely focused photo.
A male House Finch on my bird bath.
Up close, the Pine Warbler is a daily visitor and love the peanut suet balls.
The Field Sparrow is another daily visitor. I am also seeing more Chipping Sparrows now, they are a summer bird for me.
The Field Sparrow and a White-throated Sparrow eye to eye. I hope you enjoyed this collection of my yard birds. As always thanks for the visits and the nice comments. I also thank everyone who is linking up and sharing their critters.. Happy Saturday, have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteYour photos are excellent, Eileen! And the birds are all so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteFor next winter, I will try to move our feeder nearer to a window, but finding a good, safe location takes a bit planning.

Good Morning Eileen.
ReplyDeleteYou have some great pictures today. Who said sparrows are boring? They definitely aren't from your pictures. The male House Finch is just gorgeous and I didn't realise they had that patch of red at the base of their bill.
Have a lovely weekend.
Love the very first finch...the pose is darling.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning, Eileen. Beautiful variety of birds. Wishing you a very nice day.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful photos! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this fun party!
Sweet photos of your visitors.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Eileen
Uma foto mais linda que a outra! Sempre nos encantando aqui! bjs, chica e lindo fim de semana!
ReplyDeleteLovely little birds Eileen. In my opinion even plain little Sparrows are a delight to look at. I've never seen a Pine Warbler before, a beautiful colour. I should get a bird feeder for our garden to attract birds for photos & to help the birdies finding food with winter coming our way.
ReplyDeleteAnd a big thank you for hosting Saturday's Critters, I always enjoy taking part in it.
They are lovely shots and it really does seem that each bird has it's own personality.
ReplyDeleteLove the Field Sparrow and a White-throated Sparrow together ...
Have a lovely weekend
All the best Jan

Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Lovely feathered friends.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cute little birds!
Happy Weekend!
If you didn't mention that these photos were taken from your dining room window, I wouldn't have known. They are very clear and the critters are so pretty and cute. Thank you, Eileen for hosting.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen, you have some sweet local birds! I even featured a sweet bird I got to know real well. First bird I've ever known to tag along with us out in the real world and stay safely on his human daddy's shoulder! It was the coolest experience in the bird world that I've ever known. Critters are wonderful aren't they?!
ReplyDeleteAll the better to view without them seeing you!
ReplyDeleteThe Pine Warbler is a beautifully coloured.
Thanks for sharing and hosting.
Have a lovely weeek Eileen,
Ruby
Just gorgeous! I love the colour that is out there. We're still pretty drab, although the snow has, mostly, remelted!

I love your close ups . . . they are all so sweet
ReplyDeleteI like the markings on the Finch . . .
I always love your images of birds Eileen. The Pine Warbler with a droplet of water on its beak is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again for hosting Saturday's Critters. I love reading the posts. Have a truly wonderful weekend :)
All your little moochers are so cute, Eileen.
ReplyDelete;-)
I wish I could draw house finches and sparrows to my feeders. I wonder if it's the squirrels or the blue jays that keep them away.
ReplyDeleteBack yard critters are the best. We just put up our bird house. And a for rent sign!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you!
Learned about two new birds from your post today - great!
Lovely photos of the birds. Particularly love the first photo.
Thanks for hosting SC.
Peace :)
i never get to see these sweet tiny birds. we don't have a feeder so i don't know if we have birds llike this or not here. i only see the big birds like ibis and hawks, buzzards and Cardinals and egret and heron. no song birds
ReplyDeleteGreat bird photos! I really like the expression you captured on your first one.
ReplyDeleteFeathered friends are beautiful 'through your dining room window' ~ All wonderful photos!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you ~ ^_^
I know I have warblers around, but I've never seen any on the suet. Perhaps I need to hang more away from where the bigger birds congregate. Wonderful collection, Eileen! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous visitors! Have a wonderful weekend, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteWe have recently seen "male house finches" at our feeders and had no idea what they were! So sweet! I'm glad to know this now. I'd have never guessed you took your shots through a window! I tried to shoot (with a CAMERA! that is!) our pair of squirrels when they come for daily peanuts but all I get is streaks and blurs! Just NOT the photographer you are! (Which is why coming here is such a joy!)
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Linking up a post from my archive for Saturday's Critters ... Thank you! Your bird photos today are excellent and I would not know they were taken through the window if you hadn't mentioned it. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your critters too. Our feeders are overflowing with all sorts of birdies.
ReplyDeleteMB
Absolutely gorgeous, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteLovely birds.. Have a great weekend
ReplyDeleteI like all of them, and the first is funny feathers around the beak. Best regards and wish you a nice Sunday.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, specially the house finch...
ReplyDeleteI am really in awe of your feeder birds. This winter we had exactly two species (one of each)-- a Lincoln's and a Savannah Sparrow. They were bookends, respectively at the beginning and the end of the season but with nothing in between, most unusual.
ReplyDeleteYes, sure did enjoy your backyard birds. : )
ReplyDeleteLove the inquisitive look on the first house sparrow. Happy Day
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eileen, for adding your link to this wonderful birding day from your window at I'd Rather B Birdin'
ReplyDeleteHaving no posts to share, alas, I thought to come here anyway,

ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos of birds. Each have their unique color...
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteWell, I, for one, would not have guessed that these pics were taken from indoors; they're wonderful. But then again, the subject matter helps - such cuteness!
Have a lovely week ahead,
Poppy
Wonderful photos ! Thanks for sharing . Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of these beautiful birds, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, enjoy the week ahead!
Hello Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI think that these sparrows are so similar with ours...*-* I can easily recognise birds like them, (also, in genere, the pigeons and seagulls in nature, if I can say like this); but, what's for sure, it is that in here, we don/t have House Finch or Pine Warbler birds! So, lovely visitors in your yard! Many thanks for hosting and best regards in sunny April!
me again, Eileen.....I thought I was too late to join you this week but I'm not! Yeah. Thx for hosting.
ReplyDeletePhotos ary very great,hello Eileen.

ReplyDeleteLovely bird pictures - very good focus. You must be very patient to get them all right ;) #SaturdaysCritters
ReplyDeleteQue fofuras de passarinhos!
ReplyDeletebjs
You don't have anything to apologize about with these gorgeous photos. I really wish we had colorful birds like that where I live.
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet yardbirds -- I don't have ANY birds in my yard, unless you count the occasional ibis or heron using the canal temporarily. (Actually that's really fun to see -- but it isn't a daily occurrence.)Oh yes and we do have mockingbirds and woodies occasionally in the front yard. But all my windows are in the back. (It wouldn't do any good to put out feeders, because there are no trees back there, no protection for the perchers).
