Hello,
My wild bird post and photos are on the Wilson's Snipe. Hubby and I have been able to find the Wilson's Snipe often during our visits to the Circle B Bar Reserve.
The Wilson's Snipe is a short stocky shorebird. It has also been known as the Common Snipe.
They have a long dark straight bill. They breed in marshes and bogs. They forage in mud eating insects, worms and plant material.
My youtube video of three Wilson's Snipes seen from the trail.
I hope you enjoyed the Wilson's Snipe and my photos. Thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.
My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

Cute bird with a long beak, which they certainly helps when looking for food. Regards.
...a nice little thing!
Lovely to see this snipe in its habitat & feeding happily! It's beak is really long for foraging,
Have a lovely week!
It seems to me a hard life to poke your bill into the mud for some food.!!! Those feather details are magnificent.
A treat to watch your video of the Wilson's Snipe - seeing them wading and eating with those long thin beaks was a treat.

All the best Jan
Great photos and video -- you are really good with that camera. Fascinating bird. I never knew until we came to Florida that there really was such a bird as a snipe. (We used to have a trick game when I was growing up in Podunk, Eastern Washington State, called a snipe hunt -- which was hunting for something that didn't really exist.... people weren't too smart there!)
beautiful picture of the cute bird..
We were gone over the weekend, but I was happy to find your post for today. The Snipe has one serious beak! But after watching your video I understand why. :) Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for the marvelous pictures and video

It's amazing how Mother nature provides it's critters with the tools they need to survive in their habitats...Great pictures..
They remind me of our oyster catches but with different colours.
Wow, look at that beak! When I was a kid, we used to have "snipe hunts" at summer camp. I didn't realize snipes actually existed!
Pretty and distinctive!
Great photos. That is one, long beak!

You are so fortunate to be seeing so many wonderful wildlife creatures and birds at the ranch. The Snipe is a bird that I would enjoy seeing one day as well. I had never really paid any attention to images of them in the past and recently have been seeing posts with them and I am intrigued. Have a wonderful week my friend~

Great pics Eileen . . ,
What a fun bird! Your posts are always so hopeful. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed the video, too--the movements of the Wilson's Snipe are so unique.
great photos!
Have never seen a Snipe in our area though I think they are related to the Woodcock which we do have here. Great shots Eileen ... do they have the same interesting mating ritual as the Woodcock? Be well ...
