North Point State Park

Happy Monday,

On Nov 16th hubby and I went on a wild goose chase, really it was a chance to see the Snow Buntings in Baltimore County at the North Point State Park.  We have been to this park often  here is my link to some  previous visits to North Point State Park.  I dipped on seeing the Snow Buntings, they must have left over night.  At least I did not travel far and we were able to take a nice walk in the park. Here are some birds and scenery we saw during our park visit.

A pretty Song Sparrow

Common Mergansers in the Chesapeake Bay

A reflection of the sky on the marsh!

I think this is a Black Rat Snake, we saw a few snakes out on this day.

The Black Marsh Trail

A large ship out in the Chesapeake Bay,  in the background you can see the twin spans of the Chesapeake Bay Bridges.

The Snow Bunting were seen  on the rocks along this pier. The only birds we saw were the Song Sparrows, Common Mergansers and some gulls way out in the bay.

A view of the picnic tables and park and the bay.

As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

My list of memes for today, I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the host below.

Is that the bridge to cross to get to Baltimore? Long ago, when I was there, it was a toll bridge...I didn't like stopping in the middle of the bay, on the bridge, to pay the toll. lol

Loved this outing with you, the trail with all the autumn color is my favorite.

Snake - oh my horror - beautiful pictures. I have little time to comment, because I have a new relief project - homeless - I have to knit diligently / crochet for it.
Beautiful Advent

Nothing common about their name - Mergansers. I didn't know one duck from another before I met the RG and have always liked the sound of their name.
Unique reflection with the texture of the weeds.
Happy Day.

I’m rather surprised the rat snake was out and about but seeing the turtles sunning themselves shows that it must have been warm. Hope you have a wonderful week. Stay warm!!

Shame you missed out on the Snow Bunts Eileen but I hope you get another chance soon. I wonder if they quite scarce where you live. We don't get too many here. looks like you had a super day though and that trail through the woods is rather spectacular. I would love to se that snake. They do fascinate me probably because we rarely see many around here.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Good morning, or actually good afternoon already! Yikes, the days are moving too quickly. Your world is just gorgeous and this not so snowy! I'm pushing myself not to get too down with all the grey days here! Gentle snowflakes are falling right now, but still very grey day!

Some lovely photos Eileen. Here in Tasmania we have Tiger snakes & Copperhead snakes. Both aggressive & extremely venomous so if I ever see one I won't be hanging around to get a photo...

A couple of weeks ago I heard for the first time snakes referred to a Danger Noodles. I thought it was a good descriptive term for them.

I have also made a few trips (in vain!) to find a Snow Bunting this season. Sigh... Just can't seem to find one. Heard the last ones found were about a 7-mile walk, round trip. Can't quite do that yet! Yikes! But I have had a great year, so no complaining really... Thanks for sharing what you DID see! Hugs!
