Saturday's Critters #211

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Happy New Year 2018! I wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year!

If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker is a common bird seen this time of the year.

This is a female Downy Woodpecker at my suet feeder.

On December 20th I happened to glance out my window to find the pretty Pine Warbler on my deck railing.

The Pine Warbler is the only warbler I see during the winter months. I have had these warbler show up in my yard during previous years and snow storms, they must be a hardy little bird.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments this past year !

Here is a list of my linky parties;

  1. Your place is rich with beautiful birds. I can only see a few common birds here in my mini garden. Development has driven the birds away. Wishing you and family a happy new year filled with good health, peace, joy and love!

  12. Our back yard female sapsucker has returned for the fifth winter. It nearly killed a section of our Mahogany tree the second year and now we try to shoo her away with a water hose. She treats it like a game, staying on the opposite side of the trunk. Love those Pine Warblers. We see them rather erratically here during the winter. Happy New Year!

  19. Must be great to see a Pine Warbler in winter. If I had been asked to guess which species would have been most likely in winter I would have chosen Yellow-rumpled, especially since they are known to feed on berries when insects are not available.

  52. I say it often . . .
    It’s the little things . . .
We closed our feeders this past spring . . .
Chipmunks and squirrels had us in fits.
    We “reopened” around Thanksgiving.
I can not say enough about the joy I feel watching the birds.
And the shared joy Mister Irish and I experience together.
Looking out the kitchen window each morning is my “bright spot.”
    Thank you Eileen . . . for Saturday’s Critters!
