You captured some beautiful critters Victor. Great shots!
Ups, I think I got mixed up on your name today Eileen. Apologies for that. Wonderful series of interesting birds and other critters. Enjoy your weekend.
Hello Eileen,
even the snakes are interesting to see...they have a character of their own. Beautiful shots.
Have a nice weekend!
The birds and snakes are wonderful Eileen, I love it.
Hello Eileen,
Wonderful series of photos are this.
Photo 8 and 12 are my favorite.
Best regards, Irma
Hello Eileen,
Pretty images! Yes, the snake had beautiful blue eyes ;)
Happy Weekend!
I always enjoy your critters photos. Beautiful birds. So sorry, but I don't like snakes. Have a great and enjoyable weekend
Nice assortment of critters! I have accidentally seen a few rough green snakes, but never when I look for them specifically. They blend in so well with the grass and leaves.
Hello Eileen, thanks for sharing these amazing critters. And for hosting the meme. Have a great weekend. Jo
Lovely shots of the warblers, always interesting to see your North American birds. Thank you.
Happy Weekend!

Hello Eileen,
Beautiful pictures in this post.
I love the beautiful woodpecker but also the other birds.
The green snake is almost invisible because of its color. Beautifully photographed.
Greetings and a very nice weekend,
Helma
my favorite critter today is that beautiful green snake. awesome shots of him/her... hubby loved it to
If these are the kind of results you get when your husband is not with you, better send him off again!
You are such a great bird photographer. You really get out there. have a good one!

I love how most of your bird photos have that gorgeous green background. It makes the birds stand out. The snake photos are pretty neat too! Have a wonderful weekend Eileen.
Your photographs are stunning. I have to say, though, that reptiles always make me shiver! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Thank you for hosting this lovely party!
...the Red-bellied Woodpecker gets my vote, enjoy your weekend.
Amazing pics.
Happy Weekend
Woodpeckers are interesting birds. I used to wonder if they had a headache by the end of the day lol
Birds are beautiful, but snakes are scared and I do not like. But their photos are great. * I have not come back to myself yet and it tires me. I will definitely return to the blog. Thanks for thinking about me. Regards.
Nice photos of some birds that aren't always easy to photograph! Love the thrush! The green snakes can be fast even in the trees.
I never thought about snakes having blue eyes and that green snake sure blends in. I hate snakes but take pics when I see them. lol Love your pretty birds. Enjoy your weekend!
Great shots of the birds and snakes, Eileen. We have lots of snakes here in Australia but I've only seen them relatively few times - just as well as we have some of the most poisonous snakes in the world here in Australia!
WoW eileen, you had some great sitings on that walk, a birders paradise! i like the yellow rumped warblers clothes better this time of year, i think mine are gone - to return next winter!
i have never seen the next few and enjoyed your beautiful images. the red bellies and flickers visit here often, you got a pretty image of the heart on the back of the flickers head!!!
i don't like snakes (i don't care what color their eyes are - hehehe) BUT that last image is really awesome!!
Your compassion extends to snakes too. Good for you, E!
PS: Enjoy your weekend!
You got the vireo eye perfect. Great shots of some great birds and herps!
Great post, Eileen! Thanks for hosting!
Eileen, nice variety, especially the Yellow-rumped Warbler, showing the view most birders get. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful bird photos! Always fun to see woodpeckers and flickers
I know that some snakes are beneficial in controlling pests, and I thank them for it, but I stay as far away from them as possible!
It is raining here in north MS again today
Hope you have a great weekend!
You found lots of birds. Love the flicker. Your green snake reminded me of a scare I had when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I was leaning up against a tree when my brother told me to run. I ran and when I turned around, there was a green snake crawling around the trunk of the tree. Not a fan of the snakes. :)
Another great collection of birds! Love the flicker - we get them in our backyard too.
Some great pictures you took while on your walk alone . . .
Indiago Bunting is one bird I am thrilled to see in our yard . . .
Happens every once in awhile!
Wonderful bird sightings! And TWO snakes on your trek! Yowzer! :-) Glad they were of a benign variety. Great photos.
Hi Eileen!! Nice series of birds and pictures.. Happy weekend
Quite a haven for wildlife!
Such pretty birds, and I love those snakes. Have a wonderful weekend!
Colorful and creative photography of our feathered friends!

Sometimes you see more birds on your own. I guess we just concentrate on the birds more when there's no one to talk to and distract us from the job in hand. Enjoyed your birds today Eileen. And thanks for the link too.
Wow! Superb capture on birds and snakes… you got great eyes identifying the green snake among the green leaves. Such a natural hike and spotting of different birds
Hello Eileen, your bird photos are beautiful. It's always a pleasure to view them. You caught a great photo of the snake, I'm not a fan of snakes but the photo puts it in great light. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful weekend.
Great photos again. Like the red bellied woodpecker. Had on in my yard today. : )
You had a successful hike, Eileen!
Great snake photos but the birds are great...all those Warblers, which I love to look at!...:)JP
the snakes blue eyes if probably because it is close to molting it´s skin. The eye looks blue then as the eye also changes. I have seen it once in Sweden.
You had a great hike.
Rat snake sounds a whole lot better than a rattler! Those eyes are really something. Great shots as usual! Happy summer to you!
Hi Eillen
Wonderful photos, my favorite is the shot of the Red-bellied Woodpecker.
Have a happy Sunday
Greetings
Maria
Divagar Sobre Tudo um Pouco
I always love the woodpeckers, but I have to say, I like the photos of the green snake, it really did blend in so well - but I don't like them in trees!
Hope you're having a good weekend!
Wow, that green snake is well camouflaged!
You should go birding by yourself more often (just kidding)...wow such a wonderful array!
Thanks so much for linking in!!
Hello Eileen, what a wonderful collection of birds.
I enjoyed seeing the snakes too. The green one blends in so well, and yes the Black Rat Snake, does have pretty blue eyes.
Hope you've had a lovely weekend, my good wishes for the coming new week ahead.
All the best Jan

Ok, I am all better now.
Many don't realize how many snakes are in the canopy, I really like your finds
Wow, I'm thinking that rough green snake has gone unnoticed many times! Until of course he slithers down! Your hike proved perfect with all your bird captures, very nice. I hope you're enjoying your weekend!
You have very sharp eyes, Eileen! How many birds and snakes have I walked past that you would have noticed?
Oh, one day I would like to see a northern flicker. These are all quite wonderful.
you saw a lot of birds! That was a good idea, going birding. one tour of the cave was plenty for me .... but the area is so beautiful. I wish I'd thought of doing what you did while we were there.
Those wee little birds are such beauties, love the Warblers and Vireo.
I just enjoyed seeing some of your shares from both Cumberland Falls and Mammoth Cave on your other posts too Eileen. Taking today to try and catch up.
Thanking you for all that you do and for your kind friendship. Have a wonderful weekend, and take good care~
