Saturday's Critters #237

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Happy Canada Day to my blogging friends in Canada!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These are some of the birds and butterflies I saw while staying at the Cumberland Falls Resort State Park in Kentucky.

Taken on May 7th 2018, a  Spotted Sandpiper was seen along the river right before the top of the Cumberland Falls.

A Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly seen on some wild azaleas near the Eagle Falls.

American Goldfinch outside the resort lodge.

This fat groundhog was seen outside the restaurant window at the lodge. I think it was watching me eat my breakfast, wishing he could join us.

I enjoyed watching this Song Sparrow playing in the water on the river's edge above the falls.

I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments!

Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

Dearest Eileen; What marvelous encounters in Kentucky♪ Sweet Sandpiper, amazing pictures of Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly with azaleas, at first I wondered what the same pinkish thing with Goldfinch's leg p;-) The pictures Groundhog reminded me of Groundhog's Day you have; was it hungry or not(*^.^*) I Really love the cute Song Sparrow playing on the river's edge and making ripples.
Thank you so much for hosting and comments; Love and Hugs from Japan, Miyako*

Pretty butterflies and birds. At first glance I thought the groundhog is a baby bear.

A groundhog! I don't think I've ever seen one in real life.

I can see that groundhog just bristling with resentment that you called him fat. He thinks he is husky, well proportioned and appealing to the ladies - all in a very groundhoggish way of course!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful photography. Your "critters" are always in focus, as if they just waited for your lens to capture them. Much gratitude to them and you! Barb

Beautiful photos of the butterflies! Nice yellow in both them and the goldfinch. It appears the groundhog has already joined in on a few breakfasts! Cumberland Falls is a beautiful place.

Saturday again! Wow time seems to be flying...how cool to see the groundhog, and a good variety of birds too! It's so muggy right now I think the water's edge is the place to be!

I always think a Sandpiper should be at the ocean! heehee! But he seems happy there. I would love to get some butterfly pics this week. We see a lot but they won't pose for me. You got great critter pics! Enjoy your day!

that fat little groundhog hangs around that restaurant for a reason!! hehehehe, it looks like he is doing pretty well for himself!!

the butterflies are beautiful - i have not seen any yet!! right now i am checking my dill every day for the larva of the black swallowtail. i would like to raise some like i did last year, it was so much fun!!

i have not been seeing many goldfinches lately, i'm not sure why. i have a brand new goldfinch feeder and it is filled with new thistle! great siting of the sandpiper!!

Love to spot the butterflies- but haven't seen too many around here lately. Will have to get out and drive around the lake- they are plentiful there. Have a great day!

Groundhogs here are very skittish- they tend to bolt for their nearest hole when you pass by.

Hello Eileen, we don't get Spotted Sandpiper's in Africa and the groundhog is a new animal to me as well. I loved the Swallowtail and as always the Song Sparrow antics fascinate me. Thanks for sharing and for hosting this meme. Have a great weekend. Jo

Nice work Eileen. Rub out those spots and it's a Common Sandpiper, honest.

Looks like that groundhog has been in the restaurant eating all the pies!

Have a great week, and thanks for the link-up again.
