Happy Thankful Thursday

Happy Thankful Thursday!

I have been worrying about loosing my blog and photos ever since hearing about Diane of Lavender Dreams. I am happy to see she had her blog back on 2/26. Would it help to buy your domain and blog name? Would blogspot still be able to come along and take it all away?  If anyone has purchased their domain thru Google or Blogspot? If you think it is a good idea, please let me know.

On Feb 4-6th we were in Ocean City Maryland.  Bird watching is one of my simple pleasures and the sea ducks and birds in Ocean City did not disappoint me. I also enjoy the sunrises and sunsets.

Here comes the sun!

A beautiful sunrise and a beautiful day!

Our hotel on the beach, we had a nice room with a partial view on the 5th floor.

I think this may be the Common Loon, seen swimming in the ocean while we were watching the sun rise.

Ocean City Inlet, a great spot for seeing the sea ducks.

I am pretty sure this is the Common Eider below, seen at the Ocean City inlet. They have a long-nosed appearance. This one could be a first winter male?

The Common Eider and the Bufflehead ducks.

A male Bufflehead with a few females or first winter males.

Two Common Eider @ Ocean City Inlet.

The Long-tailed Ducks were seen at the Ocean City Inlet.

The Bufflehead ducks were seen in groups.

I am thankful to enjoy watching the birds, my simple pleasure.
I am thankful to see the beautiful sunrise!
I am Thankful, Grateful and Blessed!
am thankful for all your visits and comments.

Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday
Thank you to Yogi the host of   Skywatch Friday

Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

Thanks so much for visiting and for your nice comments on my previous post. Have a happy day!

Those sunrise shots are just gorgeous, Eileen! And sitting here in NW Wisconsin amidst mountains of snow, I can't tell you how good that beach looks to me! All your water and bird photos are just so gorgeous and uplifting! Praise God for his marvelous creation!

I wish I had the answers to all of your questions...we have some of them going around our house now too. But I plan to stay with Blogger for now. I can't face any drastic changes right now. I did get my blog backed up! Your photos are gorgeous! We need to take a little road trip soon! Enjoy your afternoon! Sweet hugs, Diane

You always have such nice trips and stay at nice places. I like nice places. I am not much of a camper.
Great getaway you had.
I tried purchasing a domain name from google and had it for a year then it was gone and I couldn’t figure out how to get it back. They depend on forums and volunteers to do their customer service and so there is no customer service.
So I ventured off using a server company and bought my own domain name and used the wordpress software. It costs money, and I use about 1% of the capability of the software and am afraid to change anything because I wouldn’t know how to fix it. That being said I haven’t had any problems and I can call a real person and ask questions and get answers.
Because I was cheap I bought a “us” domain name. I am the only person I know that has a us domain name. In fact I have never seen another web site with it at all.
Blogspot is kind of comfy and you have lots of built in options that you don’t have if you go out on your own.

It's an interesting question about blogs disappearing. It's hard enough that blogger is losing all those Google+ comments and now someone lost their blog. I paid for my own domain and host and use Word press but everything has its own problems. Who wants to lose all the work they put into their blog? Lovely photos as usual. Sunrise was so pretty and love the birds.

Happy Day to you,

I really think the simple pleasures like birdwatching are the best. Just to see their beauty...and sunrises and sunsets! I have forever been excited about them. I enjoy seeing what you see in your travels...

After reading about Lavender Dreams I also worried about losing my blog. What a crazy situation she was in! Right now I will stay with Blogger, but will back it up. Don't know what else to do. Thanks for linking up today.

Dear Eileen, today I made some nominations to the Sunshine Blogger Award and I inserted you name as an outsider: it is not a nomination, just a warm thankful wish. I hope you don't mind.

Have a nice day.
