Saturday's Critters #292

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These are some images from our walk on the C&O Canal trail located at Riley's Lock in Potomac Maryland.

I can always find the Green Herons at this location. They are one of my favorite herons.

We saw a lot of these Slider Turtles in the canal. They were sitting on piles of mud or trunks trunks sticking out the water.

There were a lot of dragonflies flying around.

A couple of Bald Eagles were seen and heard.  There must be a nest nearby.

A second Green Heron seen along the trail.  I think their rusty neck and colors are beautiful.

The Green Heron, one of the smallest herons. They can be hard to spot. They blend in well with their surroundings.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Here is a list of my linky parties;

  2. Dearest Eileen; As I might have said before, always love to see the beautiful green heron which look a bit different from the one I can see V(*^.^*)V Yes, rusty neck and colors are really beautiful and attractive. I told my dragonfly lover husband that it doesn't seem to have much color; and then he told me that it must be the old one that's why the color must have faded.
    Wish to see the handsome Bald Eagles p;-)
    Thank you very much for hosting and comments; Wishing you will have a wonderful weekend and coming new week.
    Lots of hugs and Love; Miyako*

  6. Thank you, Eileen for hosting. We don't get to see herons and eagles where we live. Won't be easy to spot the turtles especially when they are almost covered with moss.

    It's the pattern on the heron's wings which catches my eye - and all that duckweed. Gracious! How does the water (and its residents) manage to breathe?! YAM xx

  34. Hi Eileen!

    Blå häger vet jag att det finns, bl.a. från dina bilder men jag hade ingen aning om att det också finns grön häger, fantastiskt fina bilder du tagit på fågeln. Här har vi endast grå häger.
