Saturday's Critters #292

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

These are some images from our walk on the C&O Canal trail located at Riley's Lock in Potomac Maryland.

I can always find the Green Herons at this location. They are one of my favorite herons.

We saw a lot of these Slider Turtles in the canal. They were sitting on piles of mud or trunks trunks sticking out the water.

There were a lot of dragonflies flying around.

A couple of Bald Eagles were seen and heard.  There must be a nest nearby.

A second Green Heron seen along the trail.  I think their rusty neck and colors are beautiful.

The Green Heron, one of the smallest herons. They can be hard to spot. They blend in well with their surroundings.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Here is a list of my linky parties;

Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni.

Nice captures! Your Bald eagle looks very similar to our Brahminy kite.

Dearest Eileen; As I might have said before, always love to see the beautiful green heron which look a bit different from the one I can see V(*^.^*)V Yes, rusty neck and colors are really beautiful and attractive. I told my dragonfly lover husband that it doesn't seem to have much color; and then he told me that it must be the old one that's why the color must have faded.
Wish to see the handsome Bald Eagles p;-)
Thank you very much for hosting and comments; Wishing you will have a wonderful weekend and coming new week.
Lots of hugs and Love; Miyako*

Thank you, Eileen for hosting. We don't get to see herons and eagles where we live. Won't be easy to spot the turtles especially when they are almost covered with moss.

Hello Eileen,
Green Herons are very beautiful. Very good shots!
Happy Weekend!

It's the pattern on the heron's wings which catches my eye - and all that duckweed. Gracious! How does the water (and its residents) manage to breathe?! YAM xx

Hi Eileen. Realiezed I have not posted all July. :( Hope you are well.
I agree about the Green Heron. It is a beauty and I was happy every time I spotted it on my travels. Your images are gorgeous :)
Well, you have to say the turtles have a very good camouglage :) :)

A lot of duckweed on that pond! You could be forgiven for thinking that those Red-eared Sliders are green-backed turtles!

I agree with you Eileen. The Green Heron is an especially beautiful bird. I wish I could see them more often. That canal looks so green and unhealthy but the turtles don't seem to mind. It's fun to link up today. Thanks.

Those turtles are especially fascinating -- they blend in so well. I love the green heron, too. I think green is the theme here! We have a bald eagle that flies by but I've never had my camera when he does! Love them!

Hi Eileen!

Blå häger vet jag att det finns, bl.a. från dina bilder men jag hade ingen aning om att det också finns grön häger, fantastiskt fina bilder du tagit på fågeln. Här har vi endast grå häger.
