Saturday's Critters # 300

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

Wow, 300 Saturday Critter linky parties! Thanks to all who participate! I do love the critters! I am sharing the birds in my yard.

This time of year is a good time for bird watching right in my backyard. I am seeing various migrating warblers, local breeders Scarlet Tanagers, the Gray Catbird and my usual Cardinals and Nuthatches.

The following 4 photos are from Sept 9th. Sorry they are not the best photos, they were all taken from my dining room window.

I am still seeing at least 2-3 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds.

The Red-eyed Vireo has been hanging around the warblers eating the Devil's Walking Stick berries.

The Cape May Warbler like the berries too.

On Sept 10th, I watched the Scarlet Tanager, Gray Catbird, American Redstart and the Red-eyed Vireo all eating the berries.

The White-breasted Nuthatch is a regular visitor.

The Red-eyed Vireo likes the berries too.

I think this is the female American Redstart.

Two Scarlet Tangers eating berries, I think one is a female and the other is a juvenile.

I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !

Here is a list of my linky parties;

Also visit:  I'd-Rather-B-Birdin. Thanks to the gracious host: Anni.

Down here we have a thrush very busy finding worms in the lawn, too early for babies surely, we are just into spring? Love your many species and soft coloured feathers.

Hello Eileen,
Nice series of photos and collages are that, from your bedroom window I still think the quality is pretty good.
Do you want to place my link, I still don't succeed.
Best regards, Irma

i thought the same thing eileen as i typed the number, wow, 300, this is so amazing. i know i missed 1, maybe 2 but that's all!!

question: does the red-eyed vireo have red eyes, it didn't look like it?? i have never seen one, also new to me is the american redstart, what a beautiful bird. my hummers and my catbirds are gone for the season, i will miss them. i only see the nuthatches occasionally!!

wonderful pictures today eileen, many thanks for hosting us birds lovers 300 times!!

Exceptional bird collages Eileen. I haven't seen a Vireo (of any kind) in quite some time. My favorite is the individual hummer, face-on.

Migration time is a very active time for birds and birders.

Beautiful birds! I don't have any hummers and haven't seen but one or two this season. I don't know why. I hung feeders for about two months and they just aren't here. 200 critter Saturdays! Congrats!

Hi Eileen
I have put the wrong link in your blog. I should have opened the blog with the sparrow hawk but now I have the link with only my blog on it. Can you still change that ???
Greetings, Helma

Had my first Red-eyed Vireo this morning! Busy day so I'm really late for the party. Great birds through the windows. Hoping migration will also pick up here.

How nice to have those berry bushes to attract the birds! Great photos!
I have seen Cardinals in my Beautyberry bushes, but no photos yet.

I love what you're seeing out your window! Hummingbirds are still here too. They are spending more time at the feeder, making me think they're fueling up for their trip.

Anni said...

Your collection of birds is always interesting...with all those berry eaters, I would be in Heaven. The Hummingbirds are still here too, Eileen! I guess they know the weather forecast better than the Weathermen...LOL!!...:)jp

The birds love your berry patch! But The nuthatch is eating peanuts — some birds just have to be different! Thank you for hosting 300 critter parties...I always visit, even if I don’t have anything to share!
