Hello, everyone!
I am sharing photos for another throwback Thankful Thursday. Photos are again from my archives. They are images from past trips, happy memories for hubby and I. We like looking back at trips, wishing we could travel to some beautiful place right now. I had to renew my passport, it was expiring soon. I renewed the passport at the USPS office closest to me, this was done back in the middle of June. I finally received my new passport this week. Traveling out of the country is not about to happen any time soon, most countries do not want people from the USA visiting because of the Covid virus.
I wish this virus was gone. For now I am thankful to be safe, healthy and happy.
I am always thankful to see the beauty around me. The Oregon Coastline is beautiful. In 2012, hubby and I visited Cannon Beach in Oregon. I loved seeing the famous Haystack Rock.
Previously our endangered species were being protected, now the current administration has weakened the Endangered Species Act.
This is a view of the Hoh River, Olympic Nat'l Park Washington State. Our national parks are special places, great for exploring nature. I am thankful for the National Park Service for taking care and protecting these special places.
Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, Albuquerque New Mexico. The Cottonwood Trees were just beautiful. This was a 2013 trip to New Mexico/Texas
We took the Lady of the Lake ferry to spend a few days in the North Cascades Lodge in Stehekin. This view is of the North Cascades and Lake Chelan, Washington in 2010.
Below a view of the bridge from Deception Pass State Park, May 2017
While we are being distracted by other things, there are national parks at risk with mining, gas and oil drilling. So far the courts have stopped some of abuse of our protected federal lands. Our leader is far from being a great environmental president, more like the opposite.
The Grand Tetons Nat'l Park.

Hobe Sound Beach Florida 2019
Landscape Arch, Arches Nat'l Park in Utah 2008
Hurricane Ridge, Olympic Nat'l Park in 2015
I am thankful for all our national parks, they were created to protect and preserve these lands. The national parks are not for the current administration to lease out or sell the land for mining, the oil and gas companies tearing up the land. I often wonder about our country's future. What will be left of our country, for our children and grandchildren?
Since we are staying close to home, I have been enjoying looking back at our travels and archived photos. I am thankful I have my external hard drives sitting next to my computer for quick access. I hope you enjoy!
I hope everyone take care and stays safe.
Live simple and be happy! 😊 Take care, keep smiling!

Spectacular views. Get rid of Trump in November so that he doesn't have a chance to ruin them all. They wouldn't look quite the same with an oil rig in the foreground, or an open pit mine polluting the waters as they are now permitted to do.
ReplyDeleteThanks David! I can and hope pray the man voted out.
DeleteHave a great day!
Lindas fotos, maravilhosas e bem escolhidas! E aqui no Brasil também somos personas non gratas por causa do vírus...Não nos querem,rs... Aliás, eles tem razão! beijos, tudo de bom, vamos nos cuidando e sorrindo, brincando! chica

HI Eileen, it's so nice to have all these wonderful memories to look back on and share...Yes the current President and his entire party are the Destruction Party is how I see it...hopefully with our HELP it won't last much longer!! HEY-- I was in Olympic National Park in Sept of 2015...I was camping in the Hoh campground right by the river. What month were you there?

Beautiful photos of the national parks. I have been to many of them, but, surprisingly not the only one you have pictured from PA, the state where we live. I need to put Presque Isle on my list to be visited. It's at the opposite end of the state from us and would be about a 6-hour drive.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and for the comment.
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Oh Eileen, I had to go back and look at your photographs several times! The beauty of our parks and all of your travels, what a blessing to see this morning! Thank you for sharing!

These are some really wonderful shots, Eileen. I love that tree in Albuquerque...and, of course, your shots from the Pacific Northwest. You've been to some great places. Our national parks, in particular, are treasures. We can't be rid of this band of criminals a moment too soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kay!
DeleteYes, our national parks are treasures!
Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Hi Eileen, It's been too long since I had time to visit your blog and drool over your wonderful photos of the mountains and the sea. You are lucky to have them to treasure now while your travel is restricted.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pauline!
DeleteIt is so nice to see you visit and your blog post.
Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
You have some amazing archives!! Wonderful photos. And I love your comments about much of what we have is threatened by some the things going on now in government.
ReplyDeleteMy mother had relatives a long time ago who operated a lodge at Stehekin. She talked about how beautiful the lake was and the remoteness and how everything came in on a ferry. So I have never been there so I perked up when I read the caption on the photo.
Thank you for another one of your great posts.
Hello Yogi,
DeleteWe enjoyed our stay the Stehekin Lodge, you could either take the ferry or seaplane. It is a remote place and there are trails all over in the North Cascades NP. One of the main trails is the Pacific Crest Trail. Thanks for the comment. Have a great weekend!
Beautiful nature
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit and comment!
DeleteEnjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Gorgeous images! Our National Parks just celebrated Founders Day.
ReplyDeleteI have sent off for my new passport and they said it could take six months! My old one runs out in September but I'm not going anywhere anyway.
Thanks Linda!
DeleteI do love our national parks.
It took a couple of months for my passport to arrive.
Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Hello Eileen and thanks for sharing these beautiful views.
ReplyDeleteI wish the virus was over too, but, on the contrary, it seems to be striking back in many countries across Europe. We need to be very cautious in everything.
Wishing you a happy weekend in spite of all!
Thank you Luisella!
DeleteTake care and stay safe.
Enjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
Great serie of photo's. Lets hope it stays that way.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment.
DeleteEnjoy your day, have a happy weekend!
How neat that you and hubby are able and willing to travel to so many of our United States wonderful parks. The shot at Deception Pass is excellent. Thanks for the rewind.
ReplyDeleteMB
Such amazing and beautiful photos! You always brighten my day! Thank you!! Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeletelove your travel brochure today...been to all but Haystack rock. For me, travel isn't as important as it was years ago when we took two trips a year. Now birh Bud & I are content to stay in Texas. lol
ReplyDeleteI love the oregon coastline.
ReplyDeleteImpressive photos, Eileen, and a powerful message. It just hurts, knowing what this administration is doing to our environment. Even if there is a change and things are rescinded, much damage has already been done. We are far more fragile than we think.
