Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
2. I have posted previously about the birds I see out my "treadmill" window, I labeled these post as Treadmill birding. My treadmill died, now I have a new exercise bike now next to the same window. While riding my bike, I noticed a few American Robins at the edge of our yard and the street. One Robin was perched right outside the window at the rhododendron and on the gutter of our house.
3. The male Cardinal with two male Purple Finches.
4. The male Northern Cardinal in front of a partially hidden Purple Finch.
5. Two pretty male Purple Finches.
Thanks

ReplyDeleteThank you Bill!
DeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
great! As we say in sweden Catching two birds with one stone! You get your exercise and are birding at the same time. Love all of your photos today. Both because I like the birds and because the last ones are really beautiful with the birds sitting on the "open" bush. It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Thank you Monica!
DeleteThe birds do love sitting in that bush, it is close to the feeder.
Take care, have a great weekend.
Nice way to get your exercise. Cute Cottontail. It's been almost two years since I have seen one. Our Marsh Rabbits have dark fur and tails. So far this winter I have only seen one robin and have no hope of spotting a Purple Finch. Now that we have had both COVID shots we can at least start to dream about flying north in the spring.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ken!
DeleteWe are still waiting for the vaccine, not sure when we will be able to travel again.
Take care, have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good view from your stationary bike!!! YAM xx
Thank you YAM!
DeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
Beautiful bird photo's.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marianne!
DeleteTake care, have a great weekend.
Instead of A Room With a View you have a bike with a view. And what a view it is I would like to see a rabbit out my window. And I think the rabbit wears its own fur coat so it should be nice and warm
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra!
DeleteI do love my views of the birds.
Take care, have a great weekend.
Good for you for working out. I do, as well. I have TV, though. Sometimes I see my JB walking past the window! Thanks for hosting us! Have a great one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn!
DeleteI like my birdie TV while on my exercise bike.
Take care, have a great weekend.
...I haven't seen a robin in a while, it must be too cold here. Thanks for hosting Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tom!
DeleteIt has been cold here too, the robins are still here year round.
Take care, have a great weekend.
It's good that you are finding ways to keep fit Eileen. Even better that you can still bird while cycling. Hope you get your jabs soon. We've had our first. Stay safe. Thanks for the link today 🤠.
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil!
DeleteI wish they would roll out more doses of vaccine, it seems very slow here.
Take care, have a great weekend.

ReplyDeleteThank you Rain!

you have the most beautiful yard birds, i especially enjoy seeing the purple finches as i do not see them at my feeders. the cardinals always look so pretty, off in the distance, intertwined with the branches of a tree!!
ReplyDeletemy robins are still here also, i guess they will hang around for winter. i see a bud on your rhododendron plant, isn't that funny how the bud all winter!! i hope you are doing well eileen, taking good care of those eyes!! awesome pictures today, many thanks for hosting!!!
Thank you Debbie!
DeleteIt is weird to see the rhodo's budding. I wonder if it didn't open from the last season.

The male cardinal and the House Finches sure make for a bright splash of red!

I love the American Robins, they are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Bob!
DeleteTake care, enjoy your day. Have a happy weekend!
Nice that you have such a good view while riding your stationary bike! I only learned this year that robins don't really migrate - they just switch locations (locally relatively speaking) to where there is good for them. One day I looked out and there had to be close to a dozen male cardinals by our sunflower seed feeder! What a sight! I haven't seen a bunny in ages.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vera!
DeleteI usually 5 or 6 male cardinals and a few females at one time. I see less in the summer.
Take care, enjoy your day. Have a happy weekend!
That photo of the cardinal and the finch is fantastic.

Hello Eileen,:=) Sorry I am late in commenting. It's painful for me to sit at the computer because of sciatica. My daughter linked up for me. Lovely colourful birds, and love your Robin, and Bunny captures.
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteI am sorry you are in pain, take care and thank for for visiting and for the comment.
Have a happy day and a great new week!
Beautiful captures Eileen. The robin is so cute and plump. I hope the break will help your eyes. I too am trying to spend less time on line for my eyes and also because I have a lot of work to try and accomplish. I'm a very slow worker these days. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteHello Penny,
DeleteThank you for visiting and for the comment.
Have a happy day and a great new week!
We've startled a few rabbits in our yard through last summer and on into this winter. I'm not sure where they live, but we have lots of shelter in the form of green and dried plants. You have a wonderful view on your exercise bike.
ReplyDeleteHello Yvonne,
DeleteWe have several wood piles around the yard, I think the critters have homes in the brush piles.
Thank you for the comment.
Have a happy day and a great new week!
Very beautiful details
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment.
DeleteHave a happy day and a great new week!
The cardinal in the 4th pic looks like an angry bird! You got some lovely bird shots, and I liked the details on the robin. Hope you have a nice week ahead
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeevan.
DeleteHave a happy day and a great new week!
Can’t think of anything nicer or healthier than to exercise in front of a window where birds and bunnies roam! Good for the body; good for the soul.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit and comment.
DeleteHave a happy day and a great new week!
Hi Eileen, beautiful photos. I like the cardinal. Greetings Caroline
ReplyDeleteThe cardinals and robins are out a'plenty in my back yard. I always think of spring when I see them, even though it is still weeks away. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Eileen, I'm sorry to be late, but just so you know I started this post even before Saturday, but my working weekends, adding the frozen tundra temps, -16 when I arrived at work, brrr and this Super Bowl weekend was busy, way too busy, and yet we all survived. I especially like your bunny opener of a photo, it's what was heavy on my mind with these horrible temps and the snow that fell it's hard for them to find food! Great critters you share and make reading these photos so wonderful! Everyone does well, and so we all do well! Take care.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your colourful backyard birds, lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your week is going well.
All the best Jan
Dear Eileen, no comments are allowed in your new post, so I'll just comment here ;-) We take photos for the same reason - there are wonderful sights that want to be captured. You have preserved a magical morning sky! My husband and I are evening people, we almost only manage to photograph sunsets, but sometimes they are also stunningly beautiful. Isn't it wonderful to be able to enjoy these beautiful colors and cloud formations later and again and again?!?!
ReplyDeleteHugs Traude

I see a lot of red in those birds, very nice! And the Bunny, always a fun sighting.
ReplyDeleteCardinals are top of my wish list should I ever visit the US again! I hope your bunny has somewhere warm to live.
ReplyDeleteMr Rabbit's family members are pretty much everywhere but the red bird really is a positive highlight.
ReplyDeleteEileen - I look forward to the return of our other birds in the spring, including the purple finches!
ReplyDeleteI try to send my blog in but its does not work. https://tinedejong.blogspot.com/2020/05/een-vreemde-eendensoort-ekstereend.html
