Saturday's Critters #440

Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

Hello and happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

1. April 21st, our walk to the lake with the dogs, the usual Canada Geese and Double-crested Cormorants were seen hanging out at the lake.

2. April 23rd, we met up with our son, DIL, Wyatt and Mason for lunch in Hanover Pa. On the way home I saw a Barred Owl sitting on a power line above the road.

3. April 24th, hubby and I drove to North Point State Park in Baltimore County Md. I was hoping to see Little Blue Herons, they have been seen at this park for years. No luck seeing Little Blues but we did have some great birds and wildlife sightings.

Below top row, Tree Swallow, Slider Turtles, GB Herons. Middle row are the Caroline Wren, Chipping Sparrow, Eastern Towhee, Bull Frog. Bottom row are the Osprey, Lesser Scaup, male Wood Duck, a pair of Wood Ducks with a Great Blue Heron flying by.

4. I am pretty sure these are the Red-eared Slider Turtles, they were seen all over the wetlands.

5. A Great Blue Heron flying by, a pair of Wood ducks. The male Wood Duck is on the left and the female tagging behind on the right side of the photo.

6. The pretty male Wood Duck.

7. The Tree Swallows love this park, lots of trees and bugs to eat.

8. We watched three Ospreys flying around near the bay and we found this Osprey below perched high in a tree.

9.  The Carolina Wren singing loudly right off the trail.

Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

Thanks to all my visitors and for your past and present comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves and respects wildlife. Thank you for linking up a critter post.

Seeing an owl on a power line is really exciting. One of our most remarkable owls was in Hawaii -- on a power line right by the road we saw the native Pueo, So beautiful. All your bird photos are lovely.

Hi Eileen, this was such a good post I adore Tree Swallows, and they are hard to photo sometimes, you got a good one! Love the out in the open Barred Owl, that's rather rare to see...and of course the Wren a super shot. I have been recently working up historical bird list for states I visited way back in the day I have birded ever state but only started keep a list on ebird in 2012...so Im re-reading old journals, checking old film photos even for historical data to at least show some birds I saw in each state..Hawaii is missing since the last state I need to see! Enjoy the weekend.

Good evening Eileen it's still Saturday! It's been a busy day, and tomorrow will be just as crazy. I try to fill up my weekends with fun stuff, before it's back to work again. I also have to smile and laugh a bit when I see turtles doing what they like the most, as do the rest of the critters out and about our wonderful world and you capture them well. The last bird, I forget what you called it, quite the charmer! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
