Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
Hello and happy Saturday!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
I continue with images from our daily walks, with the grand-dogs on the fire roads and to the lake.
1. July 5th, on the fire road to the lake, we saw the usual Belted Kingfisher hanging out, Indian Pipe fungi, Nibbles and Winnie the Corgi.
2. July 10th, we took a walk on the pine tree loop fire road, a 10K bike ride was happening around our lake neighborhood. The dogs did not seem to mind the bikes whizzing by as we walked up the street to get to the fire road.
3. July 11th, another walk to the lake with the grand-dogs. A small group of Canada Geese were hanging out on the lake, the dogs enjoy the lake scenery just as much as we do.
4. July 12th, our walk on the local fire road with the grand-dogs. Winnie likes smelling the ferns, looks like something was eating the mushroom, I am guessing the bird lower right is an Acadian Flycatcher. I did hear one while we were walking.
5. July 13th, our walk with the dogs to the lake. A bad storm the evening before took some trees down along with taking out our power for 24 hours. Nibbles had no trouble jumping over the big tree and Winnie the Corgi was able to go under the tree. We saw 4-5 Wood Ducks at the lake. The top right shows a female or young Wood Duck. The female has a white eye patch and a little white on it's flanks.
6. July 14th, some of our summer annuals, the Lantana is attracting both the butterflies and the hummingbird moth.
7. July 15th, our walk with the grand-dogs on the local fire road. We heard our son will be settling on his new home at the end of the month. The grand-dogs will be leaving us and moving to their new home soon. I think they have enjoyed their time with us, all the walks in the forest and to the lake.
8. July 16th, images from our walk to the lake with grand-dogs, a view of the lake, a snake was seen swimming in the lake, some wildflowers and shelf mushrooms.
9. July 16th at home in the yard are some of my yard birds. A cute female Northern Cardinal, a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird and a Carolina Chickadee and a gray squirrel perched on top of our dead tree.
10. A larger image of the female Cardinal, she is pretty.
Thank you for sharing your critters and post!

Eileen - love the Indianpipe - never seen it myself. Bee balm is sure to attract butterflies - I have quite a bit in my garden and it is a mass of wings out there! Enjoy your weekend!
The last 2 photos are my favourites of the day! Have a great weekend!
Hello, Hope all of your doing well. Beautiful post, Loved all photos.
Happy Weekend.
You'll miss those two dogs when you hike without them. They've had a good summer with you. I always enjoy your walks and everything you find along the way.
I love the sightings from your walks. I am sure the dogs will miss these outings when they move to their new home. Nice pics, I especially liked the butterfly activity on Lantana flowers and your yard birds.
What a beautiful lake! That female Northern Cardinal looks so adorable.
You have a nice trail and beautiful view of the pond. I like the cute female Cardinal. Enjoy your weekend.
Hello. You have beautiful places where you walk. The dogs certainly enjoy those walks. Great bird sightings and photos. Have a wonderful weekend.
Eileen You are truly going to miss those 2 lovely dogs when the owners want them back and I am sure they are going miss the great walks you and your husband take them on. Sorry to hear about the storm and power cut. The flowers are beautiful and they are doing a good job at attracting the butterflies. You are right, the female Cardinal is pretty although not as striking as the male one. Thanks for hosting and commenting on my posts. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and week ahead.
Hello, the female Cardinal is very pretty, but my favourite today is the Kingfisher.
We do not see either here, unfortunately.
Enjoy your walks with the dogs and a sunny weekend! 🌞
I can hear the birds singing in your post Eileen
You've certainly spoiled the dogs for lots of walking.
Hi Eileen... Have a great week, and thanks for hosting! I'll be back in a few weeks and return to participating. Meanwhile I hope to see some spectacular critters in the far north!

Hello Eileen,
What a wonderful series of photos and collages.
I really like the female Northern Cardinal, a male Ruby-throated Hummingbird and a Carolina Chickadee and a Gray Squirrel.
You live beautifully so close to a beautiful lake.
Would you mind posting my link.
Have a nice weekend.
Greetings Irma
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos and birds! The Carolina Chickadee reminds me of a bird who lives here.
Take care, and have a great weekend!
glad to see all birds. I would not mind visiting your the Lantana. Such a great butterfly attracting plant :)
Dearest Eileen,
it must be nice to know a Belted Kingfisher's favorite spot! I have never seen a kingfisher in our area, although there are some places where specimens of this species have reportedly been sighted. It's wonderful that your lantana attracts so many insects <3 There were also many other beautiful animal sightings!
How nice that your granddogs enjoy the walks as much as you do! And how good that you were prepared for the power outage. This topic doesn't seem to have arrived in Europe yet, and I'm trying to draw my blog friends' attention to it... But today I have a holiday theme again - with some animals we met along the way :-D
All the best and happy weekend!

Beautiful photos of all the birds, Eileen. I bet the grand dogs will miss you and the daily walks. Thanks for hosting and have a great weekend.
Good morning Eileen. It's good to see your adventures along the fire roads that are so productive for birds and wildlife. I am liking the Northern Cardinal, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird and the Carolina Chickadee. Even the the squirrel perched on atop the dead tree. A dead tree des have it's uses above and beyond firewood. Enjoy your day and thanks for the link day.
I think that your alleged Acadian Flycatcher is at the lower right of your collage not the lower left, Eileen.
I'm sure you will miss having the grand-dogs to walk with. We have had to stop walking our daughter's three big dogs (2 Tibetan Mastiffs weighing 130 and 150 pounds) and standard poodle. The latter would be no problem but the other two dogs get very distressed when unable to follow the poodle. The three are simply too much for the two of us to handle when they see a squirrel.

I always look forward to my weekend wander with you and the dogs! You surely will miss them when they finally move to their new home. We will too! Once again you show us some wonderful sights. Happy weekend. YAM xx
...my favorite is the bright orange Lantana that attracts butterflies and hummingbird moth. Thanks Eileen for hosting.
You find so many critters! And a Kingfisher! They are so fast. Thanks for hosting. Have a great one.
What wonderful outings! I bet you will miss the grand-dogs as much as they will miss you too, Eileen.
Will you miss the dogs? I'm sure they'll miss their fun walks -- what a good team! And nice sightings, too. I like that orange mushroom and gorgeous birds, butterflies and blooms. Happy weekend!
Undoubtedly the pets will miss these walks with you and you will miss them, too. However, how wonderful your son's new home is nearing completion. Fresh starts!
Loved seeing all your critters today, even the snake!
Lovely photos of your walk, as always, Eileen!
Falling and rising are a natural part of life! Your walks resulted in several amazing photos, particularly the snake writhing on the lake. I love your collage of birds and lantanas.

The dogs are good walkers and must not bark a lot since the birds are not afraid when they see them! Theysurely will miss the beautiful walks with you two, but they will have fun with your son and dil and the babies too. The lantana is a bright and beautiful butterfly feeder! The female cardinal really is a pretty bird.

Hello Teresa, thank you for the visit and comment. Take care, have a great day!
Feedly is fixed and I am back and catching up, missed this on Saturday. love the top right of Nibbles in the collage and the two of them on the fire road when bikes were whizzing. Beau doesn't pay any attention to bikes or trucks or loud motorcycles. I know you will have mixed feelings on when the pups go home. this is the 2nd of august and I am hoping the house has closed by now...
Thanks Sandra! Nibbles is a beautiful dog. But, she loves to bark at everything. The house is done but they need to put up a fence to keep the dogs in the yard. The dogs may still be with us for weeks. Take care, have a great day!
Lovely post
Thank you! Have a happy day!
Thanks Linda! Enjoy your day!
