Wishing everyone a happy month of May. Tomorrow is our 35th anniversary. Usually we try to take a trip close to or on our anniversary but this year we will be staying home. I am seeing and hearing some of our Spring birds returning like the Eastern Phoebe and the Pine Warbler has been very vocal lately.
Click on images for better viewing.
1. March 14, my first critter on this post, is Miney on one of our walks on the local fire road. I hope you all are not tired of seeing Miney, she is a sweet and cute dog.
2. March 16th on our walks with Miney, I am also looking for birds. At this time I was hearing more than I could see and photograph. The Woodpeckers, Titmouse, Chickadees, Cardinals and Crows were the most common birds I heard along the trail.
3. March 18th, walking Miney on the NCR trail in Parkton Md. There are 3 bridges we cross and in the water below I noticed these large fish, some were in orange and some looked black or brown? I am not sure but we were told they were some kind of trout? Fishing is allowed in this spot, in some areas any fish caught has to be put back in the water.
4. March 18th, orange fish and some are black or brown colored fish.
5. March 19, these are the birds I saw at the Hashawha Nature Park: Eastern Bluebird, Mourning Dove, Song Sparrows, Cardinal, Mockingbird, Miney and the Slider Turtles.
6. March 19th a Song Sparrow high in a tree next to the trail. On this photo you can see the obvious breast spot.
7. March 19th, our walk with Miney was at the Hashawha Nature Park.
8. Flashback to May 2019, a few of my backyard feeder birds. I saw a great variety of birds when I had my bird feeders up. In the mosaics below are the Pine Warbler and the Pine Siskins in the first image. The second mosaic are two Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.
Flashback to May 2019, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.

First, Eileen - no, we could never tire of seeing darling Miney!!! She looks so happy to be with you.
Second, I rather think those fish look like Carp (some might call them Koi), not a Trout. I hope other commenters may be able to confirm or deny! YAM xx

We never get tired of seeing Miney! I wonder what kind of fish those are? My first guess would be a trout of some kind, but I have never seen orange ones. It that a wild stream or one where they could have stocked exotic fish like koi?
I will never get tired of seeing Miney. I love her pink harness, too. Looks great on her. A perfect match for you. And lovely birds as well. Happy week!
I love how dogs become so integrated in our lives. Miney is such a lucky pup! Happy anniversary, you two. Have a great weekend!

Hello Eileen :)
Post as many photos of Miney as you like Eileen I enjoy seeing her walking with you outdoors. Lovely capture of the beautiful Rose-breasted Grosbeak, and your other birds on the feeders. I admit to feeding the birds all year round. They don't need food now, but I would never see one bird if I didn't.
Nice series of photos from the Hashawha Nature Park, and a nice surprise encounter with the fish.
Have a great weekend and congratulations for tomorrow.
Thank you so much for hosting Eileen.
All the best
Sonjia.

Dear Eileen, unfortunately I'm late today because we spent two days with our grandson (which was very nice, exhausting, and fun). But now I can read your post in peace 😊. I can't get enough of Miney - I hope you can't get enough of Chiller and Samia either 😉 There are also always lots of birds to hear about here and not quite as many to see. But luckily you managed to photograph some birds, as well as turtles and fish. Your flashback birds are also very beautiful!
All the best, Traude

Hello and Happy Sunday, fun post from your nature walks, and Miney is so adorable, and what a great home she's found with you both. Your Peacock friend gorgeous creatures that they are I know from my own dogs and researching Peacocks can be scared of dogs, so I keep mine away from our Peacock, but he's made very good friends with the barn cats that wander in and out, and even the Opossum that often eats from his dishes seems to be not a problem. So far anyway.
Your critters are all so beautiful! It’s lovely to hear the birds are coming back—such a peaceful and heartwarming sign of nature thriving. And Miney is simply adorable! What a treat it must be to spot peacocks in their natural habitat!
Happy Monday, Eileen!
