Saturday's Critters # 606

Welcome to Saturday's Critters! Hello and Happy Saturday!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!

I am continuing with a mish-mash of photos from the end of May and beginning of June.

Click on images for better viewing.

1. May 26th,  Pretty Dam and reservoir, a good spot to watch the Cliff Swallows that nest on the dam.

A walk with Miney on the Prettyboy fire road. A nice day for a walk, it was a pretty sky day.

2. May 29th, another local fire road walk to the lake with Miney. As usual I hear more birds than I can see, I did find an Ovenbird. The photo is blurry but you can see the black stripes on the bird's head.

3. Below are a few mosaics from May 30th, first are images of our walk with Miney on the NCR trail. The Mountain Laurels were blooming nicely. We saw a White-tailed Deer across the river.

Back in the yard, the Eastern Bluebirds were coming and going from the birdhouse.

A Great-crested Flycatcher perched on our deck railing and posed for some photos.

4. June 1st, another day and another walk with Miney.  The peacock still comes for visits. This time he was hanging outside our basement door.

June 1st, the Peacock found a spot by our basement door, Miney can not see him there so the bird feels safe.

5. June 2nd, to keep a record of my backyard birds. I am sharing photos of an Eastern Kingbird, I am not sure what is in it's beak. The photos are not so good taken from a bedroom window.

6. June 3rd, Another walk on the local NCR bike trail with Miney. We saw a deer on the trail, luckily Miney did not see it, she pulls hard when she sees other critters. I captured one of two Damselflies hanging out near a picnic bench. A Black Rat snake was hanging on a fence over the creek and an American Goldfinch was perched high in a tree.

The Merlin App from our NCR trail walk, I was surprised it picked up a Green Heron.  I have seen the Green Herons around the trail and bridge.

Miney on the bike trail, she gets excited to see people and other dogs or wild critters on the trail.

7. Flashback photos from our Ireland trip May 2023. The Eurasian Robin was one of my favorite Ireland birds.

Another sighting of my favorite Ireland bird the Robin was found on the grounds of the Kilkenny Castle.

Seeing sheep was a common sight while driving around the Ireland countryside.

Update on hubby: Thanks so much for the kind words and healing prayers. On July 21st, hubby had his 1st visit with the home therapy. On July 22nd,  was his first session of outpatient dialysis. He seems to have his appetite back, he lost a lot of weight while he was in the hospital. He will be on a renal diet, I am sure he will not like it but I will be watching him closely.

I am linking up to Heidrun's Mosaic Monday   I hope you can stop by and visit Heidrun and check out the Mosaic Monday post.

Thanks to all my visitors and for your past and present comments. Stop back to see any replies to your comments. I appreciate everyone who loves and respects wildlife. Thank you for linking up a critter post.

Good morning, dear blog friend Eileen. It's still quiet outside... while hubby takes care of breakfast. The view back with all the walks is beautiful. Love the pretty pictures of the birds. What sweet scenes together with Minnie too.
Good to hear about your husband now at home. Best wishes further for him, and for you.
Thank you for sharing and for hosting. Have a very good week. Greetings by Heidrun

It’s fun to see your neighborhood peacock. We saw one in the grounds of a historic Crusader Castle in Turkey last week. I guess people really love them.
Good luck to your husband, and I hope he recovers.

Hello and thanks for sharing the lovely critters. I agree that the European Robin is very pretty. I would like to have a Peacock visitor too. 😉
Wishing all the best possible to your hubby. He must be strong, and so must you.
Have a peaceful weekend!

Hi Eileen,
This is a beautiful series of photos and collages.
I really love the eastern bluethroats and the crested flycatcher, species we can't find here.
Photo 14 is my favorite.
I wish you a lovely weekend.
Best regards Irma

So many lovely critters and having a peacock visit you is so special. The names Prettyboy fire road and Ovenbird are very intriguing. Wishing your hubby all the best and I know he is in good hands. Take care and have a lovely weekend.

Seeing your regular walk with Miney is motivating me to get one myself as well

Sweet Eastern Bluebirds!
And the Flycatcher - really posing! So cute - we are all beings, no matter which! Is this still a very young bird?
I think it is rather Miney being safe from the Peacock? I "met" one near Perth in a Wildlife Park and the kangaroos sure made way!
Oh, sheep!!!!
All the best to your hubby. Here, dunno. Sadly in the new clinic they could not treat him twice with his back (on supershort notice, as in he was standing in pain in front of them) and now he refuses to see the doc with his actual problem and I even can understand...
Anyways... to good or better times...

Good morning Eileen. Loved seeing your photos from walking Miney. She's a lucky dog to have owners who like to be outdoors. You found some great birds too. So glad to hear hubby is continuing to recuperate, and I wish you both lots of patience and good laughs as you move into this new phase of your relationship. Thanks for hosting this meme. Have a good week.

Eileen,

From Prettyboy trails to Irish green hills,
your critter-filled days bring gentle thrills.
Miney leads walks where the wild things roam,
and each bird’s song makes the trail feel like home.

Swallows and flycatchers, deer on the run,
a goldfinch high in the morning sun.
Peacocks strut where basement doors hide,
and sheep in old Ireland wander hillside wide.

Through lens and love, each tale you share
brings joy to those who stop and care.
So thanks for this party of feathers and fur—
your Saturday critters make spirits stir!

John 😊

PS Re: Hubby …
Though the road ahead brings changes new,
your care and love will carry him through.

Hello Eileen :)
You see beautiful Dam and reservoir scenery on your shaded woodland path walks with Miney, where unseen birds can be heard and enjoyed. The ones you did see, the Great-crested Flycatcher, Eastern Kingbird, and cute Robin were great sightings, and your yard birds the Eastern Bluebird and peacock are always lovely birds for us to admire. Your mosaics held loads of interest, the deer, snake, Goldfinch, Damselfly and lovely wild flowers and the many nice mages of Miney enjoying the outdoors were all greatly appreciated. I almost forgot the super flashback of the Irish sheep, feeding at the roadside, where the grass is always greener! :))
Sending good healing wishes to your hubby and thank you so much for hosting Eileen.
All the best
Sonjia.

Hi Eileen, I like your mish-mash of photos. The bluebird and flycatcher are entrancing. I can't recall seeing a flycatcher in my area, and spotting bluebirds is rare and a wonder to me when I do see them. I always enjoy seeing Miney too. I was able to take part this week. Have a good end of July.

Your birds and other critters are amazing. I love the deer and the ratsnake. I also love your eurasian robin. I guess robins over there are completely different than ours in North America.

I am glad to hear that your husband feels better. You and he are still on the prayer list.
