From my archives, I am sharing birds that are white or mostly white in color. These birds are some of my favorites that I have seen over the years I have been birdwatching.
I have seen the White Pelicans in various states, below a flock was seen at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge in Cambridge Maryland.

The Snowy Owl perched on the visitor centers roof at the Edwin Forsythe Wildlife Refuge in New Jersey.
My first sighting of the Snowy Owl was seen at the Assateague Island National Seashore in Maryland.

The Great Egrets are seen in lots of states, below this one was seen in Florida.
The Trumpeter Swan seen in Anchorage Alaska.

wow!!! lot's of awesome images today!! i have never seen a pelican or wood stork...i did not realize that pelican's come as far north as maryland. i have never seen a snowy owl either, theye are here and have been photographed in new jersey, but i have never seen them!! another cold snap starting today, i hope you and hubby are still able to get out for short walks!! have a great weekend and many thanks for hosting!!

I love all your white birds. They are beautiful. We have white pelicans hanging out much of the year on the Arkansas River as it runs through Tulsa. There are some big sandbars in the river and I think they afford them protection from four legged predators such as coyotes. I've seen trumpeter swans in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. They are some of the most graceful animals I have ever seen.
I've seen most of your other white birds but only in zoos I think.

Beautiful white birds. I am surprised that pelicans are in Maryland. I've seen the white wood storks here in Florida but never have seen a snowy owl or any owl for that matter. Beautiful photos. Thanks

Hi Eileen, Thank you for sharing a delightful selection of white birds from your archives. I also love today’s header photo! My blog break is getting longer than I originally anticipated. Lately I have thought of you often when I see the national weather on TV. You’ve had some really tough weather and I hope you and hubby are doing OK. Out here in the Pacific Northwest we’ve had an exceptionally dry winter so far. Our snow in the mountains is way below normal. I’m sending positive thoughts to you and hubby. John

I love to see Snowy Owls, their face impression is so cute.
There is something about white birds I find so beautiful. They are easy to spot (for one thing!) and look so elegant and "well dressed," no flashy colors, just pure and so lovely. At the Oscars they would be the ones in the white satin gown with limited (but very expensive!) jewelry. Sort of the Audrey Hepburn of birds.

The White Pelicans can be seen in Maryland and all around the country. I have seen a few Snowy Owls in New Jersey, two together at the Edwin Forsythe NWR wildlife drive. We never warmed up here, still very cold and windy.

Good morning Eileen and happy day to you. It's always such a joy viewing the beauty of nature in your photos. One of my favorites today is the Trumpeter Swan, they are so beautiful and this photo is so incredible with how the thin feathers/hair whatever the real term is how unique and not often captured. I wonder (of course maybe you do already) but honestly your photography and the simple yet astonishing way you capture them should be shared more than here. Like books, publications, learning centers, schools! Okay I'm rambling, because I'm concentrating on more positivity and goodness not just in the world but my daily life, as I'm sure many of us are. Enjoy your Sunday, I'm going to find joyful little things out there somewhere today as it's going to be a high of 36 lovely degrees. Yesterday on Lake Harriet it was windy and cold! But fun.
