I am linking up my Birds & Bloom post to Today's Flowers and Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday
These are some of the current blooms I have in my yard this week. I have been enjoying the hummingbirds and will miss them when they migrate south. My male hummer has already left and I am seeing the female and the juveniles.
Above Crepe Myrtle, impatiens, Ruby-throated hummingbird, American Goldfinch and the hibiscus.
The female has taken over the duties of being the guardian of my hummingbird feeders. She is chasing away some of the other hummers that enter her domain.
My Goldfinches still have their bright yellow colors, they are one of my year round birds.
The impatiens are looking beautiful and was a good choice of an annual for our garden.
The Gray Catbirds are a summer visitor to my yard and a breeding bird in Maryland. They also should be heading south soon.
Above morning glories, Gray Catbird, butterfly bush, hibiscus and a White-breasted Nuthatch
The butterfly bushes have been beautiful this season. Attracting many different species of butterflies to my yard.
The Crepe Myrtle is really growing tall and has pretty pink blossoms.

the birds and blooms gave me my daily dose of huge smiles...all the pink flowers look so lovely and the angle of the butterfly shot is so beautiful! the wings are captured in such way that I would love to have wings to spread beside it too! and yes the bird shots are so cool to the eyes...nothing like nature to calm the spirit after a tired day...thank you for giving me such eye calming treat after a tiresome day today...

We saw a goldfinch in the yard the other day - I thought they were gone for good! Still hoping for hummers, but I think it is too late this season. Your flowers are just gorgeous - a bird and butterfly paradise!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and colors...

These photos are just gorgeous. Things I rarely get to see in person. Nature is so wonderful, thanks for capturing it! (and thanks for the follow, I am following you back). xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images Eileen. I LOVE the butterfly on the butterfly bush! Your world certainly is colourful now. We're still so very dry here in East Africa. Winter is ending and we 're hoping for good spring/summer rains. Have a wonderful week. Jo
ReplyDeleteLovely collages Eileen.
ReplyDeleteWow your yard is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! Your yard is like your very own nature park. I love that butterfly bush and it sure is working.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! Thanks for sharing your pretty flowers and bird shots with us. I have never had much luck photographing birds - not patient enough I guess. Only thing I have left in bloom are some pitiful looking impatiens and wax begonias.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
The goldfinches look so proud and strong. Beautiful shots, Eileen. I sure do love the colors, too.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking very good. We do not have Crape Myrtle here. It looks lovely. The hummingbirds in our garden are getting feisty at the feeders now. Valerie
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so beautiful and I am particularly smitten by the butterfly. I just noticed this morning that our little chickadees have finally changed their tune from the spring and summer "phobe" to the easily recognized "chick-a-dee-dee-dee." I have not begun to think of the birds leaving us yet, though it is getting to be that time, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteLove the butterfly on the butterfly bush!! That is a perfect shot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place with such lovely birds and flowers. Love that yellow bird.
ReplyDeleteYou've had a beautiful flower garden this summer. We'll be watching for the hummers to come to FL soon!

Beautiful mosaics and great capture of your hummer! They are always too fast for me~ I miss seeing them when they migrate too :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I'm crazy for butterflies and your picture with the butterfly is wonderful. Hopefully we'll start seeing the Monarch butterfles flying through our area (deep south Texas) soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and comment.
Have a wonderful week!

The butterfly bush is living up to its name - we used to have them in the village where I was born - different country, but same effect on the butterflies!
ReplyDeleteVisit of guests went well, normality returns!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these photos are great Eileen. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Eileen! Do you have trouble with your butterfly bush re-seeding everywhere? I had a couple of them at my last house, and I was constantly pulling up seedlings. I do miss how they brought the butterflies in droves, though.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Beautiful Pics! I enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots of the birds, flowers and butterfly. Always a treat to see the hummers. I find them hard to shoot.
