Weekend walk, Oct 6

Sharing some scenes from our weekend walk on the fireroad and to the lake. Hubby, Goldie Girl and I enjoy our walks on the weekends.

The fireroad walk, Pileated Woodpecker and some more fungi.  I hope you enjoy these natures scenes, Goldie Girl and the pretty reflections.

 Back in the yard, are some of my warbler yardbirds..the Black-throated Green Warbler and the Cape May Warbler and a cute Ruby-Crowned Kinglet..

Eileen, I always look forward to your posts. I had to think a bit when I saw that first grouping with the dog and clouds. It looked like you were on top of the world looking down! Beautiful! Love that pileated woodpecker. They visit our yard, but I don't have a good enough camera to be able to get a picture. That fungi looks like a flower!

That looks such a lovely weekend walk. The reflections are great and the trees are starting to change colour. I actually got my hubby out for a walk this morning. That is rare these days. Goldie Girl is my kind of dog. Love her.

I enjoyed your walk too Eileen. The Pileated really stands out against the tree but i can see how those little green jobs can hide away in the greenery of your yard. Well done in spotting and photographing them. Enjoy your week ahead.

I just learned yesterday that the large fungi is called "Chicken of the Woods" or sulphur shelf. Apparently, it is edible if NOT growing on conifers but I'm too scared to try it.
