Around the yard- Jan 16

January 16, 2014

Linking up with NF Winged   and  Skywatch Friday

My shot of the moon with satellite dish in the way, I love the pretty blue evening sky.

My moon shot on Jan 9,  I love my camera..SOOC..no extra lenses and handheld..

A flock of Canada Geese flying over the yard and house.. Hubby has been seeing large groups of the geese hanging out at the lake.

Not sure why, but I love the wing spread on the Turkey Vulture shot over our lake. I have been seeing the Turkey & Black Vultures roosting in the trees next to our house. I think they know where the hunters leave the deer caucus.

To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit  Skywatch Friday
and to see more of the winged critters check out NF Winged

Thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday! Thanks to Monica the host of NF Winged.   I wish everyone a safe and happy long weekend.

  3. It is amazing if you took both your moon shots with the same camera. It is very nice detail in the second moon one, but nicer atmosphere in the first!

  20. We always see turkey vultures when we go to Arkansas in Feb/March. They do eat up all of the 'messes' left!!!!

  21. Oh what a pretty shot of the big moon! The moon was so pretty last night when I was still in town and I wanted to get a photo but didn't have my camera with me. I probably need a longer lens to get a good shot, though.

  23. The geese, either a skein, a team or a wedge, when spread out, and if close together a plump, love those terms, and a super photo to go with them. Down here we see gulls or starlings in flight together, sometimes swallows. Have a fine day with good weather, Cheers from Jean

  34. Dearest Eileen;
    Wow Wow; these magnificent moon shots are SOOC!!! I felt amazing, my husband said that your camera must have high power magnification of a lens. Haha, we need to learn more.
    I wish I could see vultures with my own eyes(*^_^*)

    Sending you lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
