Belize Vacation

I am linking up with Mosaic Monday and Our World Tuesday

Hubby and I just returned from a week in Belize. We started our trip with 4 nights at the Sleeping Giant Rainforest Resort.  A beautiful resort with lovely landscaped gardens, the rainforest,  a view of the mountains and river.  I will do a review of our stay on Trip Advisor but I wanted to start my post with the first day of our vacation in Belize.

The resort was located in the Belize rainforest.. lovely trees and flowers surrounded the resort and hotel rooms..

The bougainvillea  in Belize is gorgeous, so many pretty colors..

The ducks and turkeys roamed freely around the resort, the flowers attracted all kinds of birds. I will share more of the lifers and new birds I saw while in Belize.

The Flamboyant trees were one of my favorite trees, also known as the Royal Poinciana.

The Social Flycatchers were silly trying to build a nest inside an umbrella near the resorts pool.

A view of the Sleeping Giant and mountains surrounding the rainforest resort..We had a busy week, touring the Mayan ruins, birdwatching, caving and hiking in the rainforest.. I have over a thousand photos to go thru and this is just the start.. Thanks for stopping by and for the comments.

Join in on the fun and for more wonderful photos please visit  Mosaic Monday and more

Thanks to our host: Mary our host of Mosaic Monday and to the hosting group of Our World Tuesday: Arija, Gattina, Lady Fi, Sylvia, Sandy and Jennifer.  I wish everyone a happy week ahead!

  5. Hi Eileen, thanks for sharing this amazing place with us. I felt as if I was there. I think I used to have that shrub with the claw-like flowers in my SA garden. But it was an alien and I had to eradicate it. I'm not sure what it's called, but is sure is pretty. I loved the social flycatchers building a nest in the umbrella! I look forward to more of your trip. Have a great day. Jo

  21. Stunning - what a wonderful place to vacation. Everything is so vivid. Love the little birds trying to nest in the umbrella - we had a bat in our umbrella the other day. Guess the daylight was too much for him when we opened the umbrella because he eventually flew away - after I got pictures.

  45. Hello There, We just got home from a great week--which was a terrific 'healing' experience for me --as I recover from gallbladder surgery followed by that wicked infection... You'll have to check out my blog post today (if you haven't done so yet).

Happy Memorial Day to you and yours... Let's never forget those men and women (past and present) who were/are in the Armed Forces and have done so much to give us the FREEDOM we have today. God Bless ALL of them and God Bless the USA.

So you all were traveling when we were... It's just that we have never been to Belize... How gorgeous... I'm sure you had LOTS of fun and have many photos to share... yeah!!!!!
    Hugs,
    Betsy
