Saturday's Critter's #44

Saturday's Critter's #44

Happy weekend and welcome to Saturday's Critters! I am sharing more of the birds and critters seen during our Colorado vacation.. Besides birds, hubby and I loved seeing all the elk.. The biggest herd were seen in the Beaver Meadows area ..Specifically off the road that goes to the Cub Lake trail.. Every day the cars were lined up on the side of the road, people sitting out in their chairs watching the elk show.. One big bull elk was bugling and chasing another male around and away from the rest of the herd.

A Yellow-rumped Warbler was one of the common birds we saw around Estes Park and the Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park.

The chase is on.

This Black-billed Magpie was going bald..molting..

If you turn up the sound all the way you will hear the bull elk bugling on my video..It maybe too long, I do not mind if you do not watch it all, lol.

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.

I have never been first in my entire life ever! Nothing like being on the West Coast and three hours behind everybody else.

I love your Rocky Mountain Elk! Aren't they magnificent? Beautiful pictures (I've never really gotten good birds in Colorado...next time we visit the kids I will try harder.)

Thank you so much for hosting.

Oh that constant warring for territory. It even happens in kitty -households! Great post. I never knew that magpies (like our crows) molt. And I didn't know what sound an elk makes. Now I do. I love sharing in your wonderful Saturday Critters Party. Have the best weekend ever, Eileen. Greetings, Jo

Living in Colorado for over 40 years, I don't ever recall seeing a Yellow Rump Warbler!!

The Elk, on the other hand, are plentiful...you've captured their strength and beauty to be sure.

Eileen, my hubby would be ga-ga over those elk. He's been hunting for elk and been very close, but has not had a good opportunity. I think he would prefer to be like you and just photograph them.

Such magnificent photos of the Elk! Their coloration is just great with the golden grass. I'm wondering why the bull in the video rolls his head from side to side in the grass and pulls some out on his antlers, so funny! The molting magpie is cute, my chickens are molting now too.
