Chincoteague skies

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

We completed the huge loop on our way home from the Outer Banks NC driving across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel near Norfolk and then we headed to Chincoteague Island, Va. It was a foggy morning but by the time we made it to Chincoteague the sun was coming out and we decided to stay another night. We had enough points to get a free night stay at our favorite Chincoteague hotel..So I have some more birds and some pretty sky shots for Skywatch Friday to share and of course some fences for Tex's Good Fence party..

Chincoteague NWR Snow geese.

Snow geese and the sunset..

The hotel  is just outside the entrance of the park, we were up early to enjoy the sunrise too.  The Chincoteague ponies were standing along side the road as we drove to the parking lot at the beach..

Sunrise at the Chincoteague beach..

Great Egrets in the distance and a fence scene for Tex's Good Fences meme.

Another shot of the Chincoteague ponies and I see a fence there keeping the horses off the road..But, they still find a way to the road..

Another sky shot for Skywatch Friday.. I though this was a cool scene, a hole in the sky and the jet contrails..

More of the Snow Geese at Tom's Cove, Chincoteague NWR.  I hope you enjoyed my skies and the Snow Geese and the wild ponies of Chincoteague..

Thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments..
To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit  Skywatch Friday
and check more fence shots at Tex's Good Fences

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences and thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.   I wish everyone a safe and happy long weekend.

You seem to have a lot more beautiful sunsets than we do. I do like that second photo, and would love to see the Snow Geese. It sounds like a great trip.

Dearest Eileen; Wow, what a great number of Snow geese!!! It must be quite impressive scene♪ Beautiful view from Chincoteague and I've never seen the jet contrails like that☆☆☆

I've never seen a huge flock of Snow Geese. They seem to join up with Canada geese here so I see only a few Snow Geese at a time amongst millions of the Canada variety.

Hello There, I enjoyed your post today. That looks like such a gorgeous place --and SO peaceful. Glad you got to stay an extra day. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I haven’t been around much lately. I do try to read blogs—but just haven’t commented very much lately like I usually try to do. Please don’t give up on me. Hopefully my life will be back to ‘normal’— whatever that is (ha), sometime in January.

I did get a cortisone shot in my knee —which has helped with the pain somewhat. In January, I will most likely have meniscus tear surgery…. BUT—in the meantime, I plan to have a fantastic Christmas —and hopefully get to see my kids/grands… God is Good.

Hugs,
Betsy

I have never seen anything like that - flight trails through a whole in the sky - I almost thought it was a reflected puddle !

Beautiful photos!
I'm always amazed to see egrets perched in trees. Their feet just don't seem right for gripping tree branches.
Have a great day!
