Mishmash

Linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences

Sometimes I have a hard time thinking up titles for my blog post.. Since the photos I am sharing are a collection of unrelated subjects..you can call it a hodgepodge or a MISHMASH.. I am sharing some photos from my yard for Tex's Good Fence post and some local shots for my Skywatch post and I always have to include a bird or two. All the photos are unrelated, some are just pretty to me. I hope you like them too.

While walking on my treadmill I am still seeing my Eastern Towhee. The view out my window while I am walking on my treadmill..

For Good Fences..early one morning a scene from my dining room window this week. We had a mixture of snow/sleet/freezing rain...Beyond the deck railing you can see the chain link fence. It was necessary for when we had Goldie Girl..way in the distance is the old wood fence behind the pine trees..it is falling down now..We have a mishmash of fences in our yard..

Hubby enjoys his cold walks to the lake, as you can see it has been cold enough here for the lake to freeze on top..A view of the sky above the lake for Skywatch Friday....Thinking of SPRING now...

The House Finches stopped eating long enough to turn and pose for my photo..

Also for my Skywatch...a shot of the moon, taken from my deck..

A rural scene from taking the back roads to my son's house in Pennsylvania..

A sunset skywatch on the way home from my son's place on Sunday..

As always, thanks for stopping by and for the nice comments..I hope you enjoyed your visit.

To see more pretty skies from around the world please visit  Skywatch Friday

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences and thanks to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for hosting Skywatch Friday.  I wish everyone a happy day and weekend ahead..

  10. The house finches have a "caught in the act" look on their faces with seeds in their mouths ... cute! Great shots of both skies and birds. Seeing the lake shot makes me want to venture down to our Lake Ontario today and see what it looks like now. Enjoy your day! Wendy

  17. "Mishmash" sounds like something those sweet little birds would gratefully eat during this brutal winter. Your photos describe well the desolation of the season....but to those who take the time to look more closely, the world is alive with feathery beauties who don't seem to be bothered by it all!

  18. Very nice sunset shot! Your view of the lake really reminds me of a spot on our local Pine Lake.

  37. Mishmash, now that's a word I haven't heard in awhile. And you did indeed post mishmash ... beautiful mishmosh. I am most impressed with the fact that you can take a clear shot of an Eastern Towee while walking on a treadmill. That is quite a trick, Eileen :) All of your pictures are lovely including the many layers of fence in your back yard (I had to enlarge and look very closely to spot them all). What a pleasure ... who would have though, mishmash:)

  46. Your towhee is such a handsome bird, beautiful photo too. I like the way the house finches have turned to the camera, but the other bird (is it a goldfinch?) is too interested in eating...

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi Eileen,
The House Finches are beautiful and so are the other scenes.

That moon is something. Do you have your own Hubble? :)

Looks like you have a frozen deck - not surprised, based on your Geo-location.

    Have a Beautiful day!
    Peace :)

  91. All beautiful photos, Eileen! I loved your "mishmash" a lot, and most especially, for some reason, the rural scene (maybe the horses, or perhaps, the interestingly arranged fence.. or both). I guess you have it a little bit colder than we do for now, but I can see by the finches' wonderful red coloring that they are getting ready for Spring. Have a wonderful evening. Hope to see you with a couple of critters tomorrow.
