Black-necked Stilt

Linking up with Wild Bird Wednesday and Nature Notes  and NC Sue Wordless

For this week's wild bird I am sharing the Black-necked Stilt. The Black-necked Stilt is a breeder bird seen at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. Since April I have been to Bombay Hook NWR three times each time seeing some first of the season birds.

One of the many Black-necked Stilts seen at Bombay Hook NWR.

Caught in the act!

I think the reflections on the shot above are kind of crazy on the eyes.

This shot looks like they are working on their nest. A little fuzzy shot, this was a distance away even for my zoom.  I hope you enjoyed my wild bird post and photos. Till next week's wild bird post. Join in and post your birdies and to see more beautiful and wonderful bird and nature photos please visit:

  22. I was so excited when I saw the title of your post! I just saw this bird for the first time ever while we were at our local wildlife refuge. It is a lovely bird and you have some great photos here. In my photos, the slender bill of this bird blended in with the surrounding wetlands as if it has no bill at all. This is very cool, Eileen!
