Saturday's Critters #77

Saturday's Critters #77

Happy weekend, everyone!

It's the first Saturday in June and the first day of the Summer Solstice is June 21st. It has felt chilly here and we had some rain over the past week. I am looking forward to warm summer days. Ok, it's time to share your critters.  Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post. I appreciate everyone who has linked up in the past and for those who are linking in on this week's critter party. And of course I always appreciate my blogging friends stopping by just for a visit.

For this week's critters I am sharing some of my yard birds and my grand puppy Nibbles. Soon we will be puppy sitting when my son takes a short trip to the beach, it will be like having a dog again. Some of these shots were taken back in May but I have not shared them until now.

My cute Ruby-throated Hummingbird, he is on guard watching his feeders.

A Gray Catbird has been seen around the yard.

The Indigo Bunting has been seen almost every day lately..

One of my all time favorites the Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

The House Wren is one of my loudest yard birds. It seems to be fussing at something all the time..

I've been hear and seeing the Great-crested Flycatcher around my yard too.

The view from my treadmill window..a bunny and a chipmunk.

Nibbles not quite 6 months old yet, she is a little on the wild side. I hope you enjoyed this collection of yard birds and Nibbles.
Thank you so much for visiting and commenting and for linking up to my critter party. Enjoy your weekend!

Thanks to Tex Theresa aka Tex, I was able to add this link up button and thanks to  Jennifer for creating my photo badge.

  10. That is a busy back yard! Once again we had a hummingbird-less spring, though we did feed the bees. I think our subdivision is so lacking in cover and native plants that the little critters just pass us by.

  11. Beautiful pictures Eileen, the hummingbird I find really great.
    Have a very nice weekend.

  13. Good morning Eileen and thanks for the chance to link up with like minds. I'm sorry to hear that Nibbles is a little on the "wild side". I guess he'd say its youthful exuberance?

I really like those pictures of the summery grosbeak and the Great-crested Flycatcher.

But like Yamini I want to cheer and applaud the beautiful and cute and gorgeous Nibbles. What a darling doggie she is. I love the idea of her ball being tied to her collar. 33. Hi Eileen,
    Happy weekend!
The birds that visit your yard are quite the variety and very beautiful. Quite a bit different from what we see around Atlanta, possibly. Nibbles loves the Tennis ball, I see. Many dogs do and never tire, but our arms do ;)
    Very nice photos!
    Thank you for hosting.
    Have a Wonderful Weekend!
    Peace :)

You've captured some adorable birds, as usual. My favourite among the lot, the rose-breasted grosbeak, is not only beautiful, but full of drama! Thanks for sharing!

Hope you have a warm and sunny weekend! It's been rather cool, here in Toronto, too!

  36. The photo of the bunny & chipmunk looks like a scene from a Disney movie! And Nibbles is TOO cute with his ball! :-) Love all the great bird shots too. Hope your weather warms up! We had triple digits for about four days then it cooled off some and we had a little rain. The sun is shining again, so I bet it's going to be a hot one today! Have a great weekend!

  38. Good Morning Eileen!
The Indigo Bunting is my favorite!! While at the Butterfly House in Key West, they had a sign that said they had Indigo Buntings. I looked and looked, but never saw it or them!!! I've only seen pictures of them!! LOVE that color of blue!! You've got your job cut out for you with Nibbles!! She looks like she will keep you on the run!

  47. You really have a variety of birds. I have only seen the Indigo Bunting once and it was so gorgeous. Nibbles is cute...not sure I could handle a puppy any longer!

  48. Many people try their hand at photographing birds, but yours are consistently a feast for the eyes. Your backdrops of foliage have an ethereal quality that no one else can capture. The colors, the lighting! And always, a sweet little critter perched amidst who just warms your heart because of its beauty and carefree enjoyment of life! SO well done!
And speaking of "carefree enjoyment"....well, that Nibbles looks like he invented it! Some grumpy people could learn a thing or two from him!

  58. Hi Eileen, I enjoyed seeing Nibbles and your yard birds. Surprisingly, I have seen all of the same yard birds except the flycatcher in my yard - but the grosbeak and indigo bunting only once or twice. Is your hummer a female? The ones I see in my yard actually do have a large bright red throat. I enjoyed your post very much, Eileen. And you are really fortunate to have an indigo bunting visiting daily! So beautiful! :)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Fun shots! Seems like a lot of your critters have their mouths open!

  60. Some beautiful birds, I have not seen a lot of them here. Pooches are such fun but you need a lot of energy when they are pups.
