Saturday's Critters #93
Happy Saturday, it's time to share your critters and post. Any kind of critter will do, even a new or old post.. I appreciate everyone who is linking in with this week's critter party.
Last week on my critter post I shared mostly the Great Egrets and Night Herons from the York Pa rookery now I am sharing the assorted ducks, geese, heron and egret shots. These images are from July 31, I really need to clean out my files.
A female Mallard giving me the evil eye.
A couple of cute ducklings.
Hybrid Mallards, the ducklings are cute but almost off of the bottom of the photo.
Canada Geese and a Great Egret
More of the Mallards, hybrid Mallards and a juvie Black Crowned Night Heron is snoozing in the back. I hope you enjoyed my critter post. I thank everyone who is participating with my critter linky party. Also thanks to all who just stop by for a visit and most of all for all the nice comments. Have a happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteThe hybrid mallards are quite attractive but it sure does make identifying ducks more complicated! :)

Crissi
I love the little duckies! And that's an awesome side eye from Mrs. Mallard.
ReplyDelete~
I'm glad you didn't throw these photos away while you were cleaning! Quite a hodge-podge of mixed-up Mallards. I think the first one may be a male in eclipse plumage, as its breast is quite red and bill is clear greeninsh-yellow instead of the expected more orange-brown of the female. But hey, what difference does it make!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos . Love the ducklings soo cute . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteI do like a duck picture or two.
ReplyDeleteThe early one is warning you not to get to close.
Merle..........
Oh, Eileen, those ducklings are ADORABLE...just too cute..:)JP
ReplyDeleteYou have such a variety of birds in your area! I like the Heron visiting with the Mallards.
ReplyDeleteLove the lone egret with the geese. The egret looks as if he wants star attention.
ReplyDeleteOh the ducklings!
ReplyDeleteI love how you get so many different birds in the same shot - and the ducklings are so cute.
ReplyDeleteI love that last shot of the birds snoozing in the shade.
ReplyDeleteAs always such nice series of images.
ReplyDeleteFine water birds! Nice to see.
ReplyDeleteLovely wild pictures...
ReplyDeletePierre
What beautiful shots, Eileen !! I love these beautiful creatures !!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday !
Hello Eileen!:) It's nice to see everyone getting along in such a lovely relaxed atmosphere. You're so lucky to have them so close to where you live.Neat pictures Eileen.
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle over the duck giving you the evil eye. I experienced that when trying to photograph a swallow mom sitting on her nest above the light on the restroom at the beach. The baby ducklings are so cute. I marvel that the different kinds of birds can live together peacefully when my poultry can't seem to get along.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE the immature heron in the shade of the tree!!!
ReplyDeleteBefore we leave for the day, I just wanted to stop by and say this:
Thank you for taking time to add your link this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'.
Lindo belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm bom Domingo.
Lovely photos Eileen!
ReplyDeleteHope the ducklings have a good life.......young things are always so beautiful.
Happy Sunday!
Ruby
Ducklings, ducks, they all are such a gift and pleasure to see! What is it about those delightful little critters that immediately grab our attention! Enjoy your weekend, in my world it may be our last summer like day. It was an incredible day here on Saturday and today should be even nicer! Topped off at a stunning 80 degrees with a gentle breeze! My kind of day.
ReplyDeleteAll are lovely critters.
ReplyDeletelove the little ducklings and maybe the evil eye was because you were looking at her babies.. he last one they look like they are standing in the shade to keep cool
ReplyDeleteHi Y'all!
ReplyDeleteSea birds. It's one of the things we miss most when we are in the mountains.
Y'all come on by,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Lovely selection of captures!
ReplyDeleteKalimera from Greece. I'm sorry I can't join in with your critter day Eileen but I'll be back to normal soon. Have a great week ahead

ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Eileen. Love to watch the antics of ducks...
ReplyDeleteHi friend!!!Nice series of pictures sincerely ..
ReplyDeleteGlad to see pictures of Mallards - an underrated familiar species.
ReplyDeleteIt seems late for ducklings..Looks like only 2 made it from that clutch?? So cute..Happy Sunday..
ReplyDeleteHybrid mallards, that's a new term for me but why not?
ReplyDeleteEileen, wish I could describe what I heard the other night around 3 am. I've checked raccoon, porcupine and skunk vocalizations but was already sure it wasn't any of them. Possibly a bird I can't identify - not an owl though. It made about three short eerie sounds followed by a long warble. The warble was actually a pleasing sound. If you can suggest any ideas I'll keep googling possibilities.
the babies are sooooooooo cute
ReplyDeleteI like your ducky collection.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Congratulations on this edition #93 of the Saturday's Critters meme. Your photos are always interesting and it is quite amazing at the photos one can enjoy by looking over all the other bloggers who participate. I hope the clouds clear and you are able to see the lunar eclipse tonight. I always enjoy the shots of the moon you get back there. Take care and best regards for the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, Of course my favorite is the juvie heron! Have a super good coming week. No eclipse view for me as it is raining here in my area.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great variety of fowl you have there! I love to see ducklings, no matter the name!
