Tennessee Sunset

I am linking up with Skywatch Friday  and Good Fences
I hope you can join in on the fun and share your fence scenes and pretty skies.

I still have more photos from our trip to Tennessee.  These are some Tennessee scenes with skies, fences, barns and some birds of course. LOL, I can not do a post and not include some birds. I hope you enjoy this post.

For my week's favorite for Teresa's Friday's Hunt and Tex's Good Fences meme above, this big guy came to greet us and was scratching his head on the fence.

These cows were mooing at us and a few of them walked over closer to us.  I was leery of getting to close, this fence did not look that strong.

For Tom's Barn Collective a barn with the rolls of hay outside. Sorry for the quality my drive-by shots are never clear.

I hope you are not tired of seeing Sandhill Cranes, they seemed to be all around during our visit. A nice Tennessee birder told us we could find more Sandhill Cranes at this cow farm. He was right on we found the cranes, cows, fences and a barn. I hit the jackpot here.

We saw a good number of Sandhill Cranes at the farm. They were spread out all around the farm. There is some kind of fence on this photo above.

This barn looks like it needs some help, it was nearby the cows we saw.

For my skywatch entry it was near sunset we were back at the Cherokee Removal Memorial park to see the Sandhill Cranes and the sunset. I like the colors in the sky above.

For Teresa's Friday hunt, above is my week's favorite photo. I love this sunset and reflection on the river.

Edited to add a photo of a Killdeer for the letter K

Teresa's Friday's Hunt Week of March 11...thanks Teresa

1. starts with the letter K...I saw some Kestrels along the road and Killdeer on the field with the cows but no photos.
2. week's favorite
3. Flower...my plant zone is slow to see flower here. Maybe some daffies coming soon.

As always I hope you liked my photos. Thank so much for stopping by and for the nice comments. To see more pretty skies, fences, barns and fantastic photos from around the world please visit the memes below.

Thanks to Theresa @ The Run*A*Round Ranch for hosting Good Fences. Also, thank you to Sylvia, Yogi  and Sandy for doing such a great job at hosting Skywatch Friday.  Thanks also to Teresa Friday's Hunt    Thanks to Tom for hosting The Barn Collective

I too would be a little wary of the flimsy fence and those strong looking cattle!

I love those Sandhill Cranes, Eileen. We have a few Common Cranes here - but for Sandhills, I just love Vicky Henderson's painting here.

Hello Eileen!:) Love all the fence shots with the cattle, and I'm not in the least tired of seeing the Sandhill Cranes, as they are a novelty for me, and your Sandhill Crane captures at sunset are very beautiful images. Nice barn shot too!:)

Wonderful photos, Eileen! I always love seeing a herd of cattle and those are especially interesting. Great barn, and tell those sandhill cranes they can return to Wisconsin. I love those birds with their great squeaky call.

Very pretty farm scenes. I was so nice to see the cranes. I wasn't sure where this farm is in Tennessee but my BIL lives in Jackson. He is a piano tuner and repair person. I haven't finished my Hunt yet so I'm still working on it.

amazing that a fence that size can hold back those cattle....i guess the barbed wire is effective!!!!

Did you play the game as a kid...open the car doors when you cross RR tracks to let the train through?

Another game we did...we'd all moooooo when we'd see cattle.

Ida said...

Your photos were wonderful. I liked that 1st one with the cow scratcing on the fencing. You'd think that barbed wire would hurt. Also the photos of all the Sandhill Cranes were fun. I never see them around here so it was a treat. Such a pretty sunset shot too.

Kerry said...

You know there's a trick to rubbing your head on a fence post like that. You have to be able to scratch an itch without getting messed up in the barbed wire. :-) It ain't easy being a cow.

There's something romantic about old barns. I just imagine the stories they could tell! Have a grand day!

What lovely sunset photos - awesome sandhill crane shot.

that fence seems to keep those cows back and a good crop of cranes in that field too.

I also had a fear of these cows, although they are nice. It was nice to watch the birds. Beautiful view of the end of the trip. Regards.

Guess 'Norman' was a bit itchy...

Lovely photo of sunset's reflection in the water.

Have a Happy Day, Eileen!
Peace :)

Hi Eileen. I think it's great the way those cranes are spread out across that farm without a care in the world. Three cheers for the farmer for not harassing the birds and for all the folk like yourself who spread the word about how wonderful our wildlife is.

I think you're safe with cows. It's the bulls you need to watch out for.

There were really a big number of Sandhill Cranes! Awesome! Beautiful landscapes!

Fun to see the cows so curious - good idea to keep your distance. I was chased by a herd of cows once as a little girl when I picked some apples in their pasture. My Dad had to rescue me :) Love seeing the Sandhill Cranes - what a thrill. They are larger than I expected! Nice old barns and that sunset is just wonderful! Hope your Friday is a good one. xx K

Great collection! It makes me miss my cows. Love the killdeer. I can never seem to get close enough to take a decent picture of one. Thanks so much for joining Friday's Hunt!

Judith @ Lavender Cottage said...

I hope the killdeers have not left our area, it seems everywhere they wanted to set up a nest on the ground was the next spot for houses to be built.
It would make me a little leery too of a flimsy barbed wire fence to hold back big beasts if they really wanted to get out.
