Teresa's Friday's Hunt

Random # 1. In the spring we see some pretty warblers pass thru our neighborhood and around our lake. The warblers like to stay high up in the tree tops which makes it almost impossible to get a good photo. I still like to document what I see and when.
#2. My name is Eileen and I have an addiction to birds. On this day I saw the Prairie Warbler, White-throated Sparrow, possibly a female Pine Warbler or Kinglet and a Chestnut-sided Warbler, Woodpeckers, Hermit Thrush and the Eagle nest.
We watched the Prairie Warblers chasing each other around the trees and bushes. This may not look like the best photo. But it is my favorite for the week, mainly because I love the bright yellow warbler checking me out.
The Lousiana Waterthrushes show up a near the creeks that run into our lake, the same time that the warbler arrive.
Overhead looking up at the top of the pine trees, we saw a Red-tailed hawk.
"The sky is the daily bread of the eyes." Ralph Waldo Emerson
3. Skywatching is another one of my simple pleasures. On this day, we drove around the lake for a walk on another fireroad, it is the same spot where we found the eagles nest. Another favorite photo, this shot of the sky and field was taken from the parking area.
4. Hubby and I are proud of our son at 23 years old, he has purchased his second home. After living in his first home for two years, he spent a lot of time renovating the first place and sold it within a week of listing. Some scenes from our ride to our son's new place, we take the back roads and there are a lot of farms, barns and animals.
5. The spring baby animals are so darn cute. We pass by this farm with the Longhorn cattle, do you see the little calf laying in front of the whitish colored mom. Click on the image for larger viewing, it is in the middle of the photo.
Lots on contrails from the jets and a pretty blue sky. Make time for the simple pleasures. My simple pleasure is skywatching.

ReplyDeleteWell you certainly will have plenty to photograph when you visit your son again. beautiul skies and birds Eileen. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen!:) You always do such a good job of capturing birds high up in the tree tops. The Warblers are pretty birds, and I like your capture of the Waterthrush and the one looking upwards to the trees, with the hawk in flight. Lovely sky shots, views with cattle, and barns and fences. The lovely scenery and peaceful rides on the back roads are the best, even if it takes a little longer to reach our destination.:)
ReplyDeleteExcelentes e belas fotografias, gostei das dos pássaros.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.
Lovely photos, the prairie warbler is so colourful!

Love the composition of the overhead pines and hawk. And the contrail sky fence. Happy Day
ReplyDeleteBeautiful warblers Eileen. Are they rather smallish birds? We have some little bird that stays high up in the tree but boy, when it sings it has a HUGE voice! Love your barns and fences today too. Have a lovely rest of your week.
ReplyDeleteHi Ellen, I like your post very good.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are beautiful.
Happy weekend for you
from Anne-Mari
Our current warblers are the Pine Warbler and the Yellow-rumped Warbler. There may be others out there but they thwart me by always being just on the other side of the limb high up in the tree. Hope you have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've every seen a warbler. Must not be looking in the right place. I see the yellow goldfinch but nothing resembling the yellow warbler you saw. Now I need to look more carefully.
ReplyDeleteWe love so many of the same things my friend. These are good addictions, I think! Love the drive out to your son's and what a great achievement! Enjoy your day! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeletethere are many who share your bird addiction.. i love that little yellow warbler. so cute.. i am addicted to anything with fur, with focus on dogs and cows as the top two. thing thing is you can feed your addiction outside your window. i have to go somewhere to find mine. of course i am addicted to snapping shots of whatever lands in front of my camera
ReplyDeleteThe warblers are arriving here, finally. It seems that they are late this year. Yes, they are very hard photograph because the are tiny, quick, and easily concealed in the trees. Here they flit around in the aspens and once the honey locust finishes leaving out, they will pick their way through them, then they will be off to the mountains, even Canada perhaps.
ReplyDeleteThose birds are so colorful. And how fun for your son, best of luck to him in a new home.
ReplyDeleteWonderful birds and skies and fences Eileen! Hope you have a great end to the week!
ReplyDeleteEileen,
ReplyDeleteI adore this precious Pine Warbler and I see he also made it on your side bar!
He deserves that position:)
Happy Thursday!
