Hello, happy Thursday,
I thought I would take you back to May and our visit to the Hoh Rainforest in the Olympic National Park. We walked a few trails, one trail took us close to the Hoh River. The Hoh Rainforest is lush and green from all the rain received in this area. There is a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees, lots of mosses and ferns.
A view of the Hoh River and a pretty sky.
Fern and mosses growing on a downed tree.
An Elk trying to hide from us just off the trail.
Below a line of trees growing out of one old fallen tree on the ground.
Wood duck couple and some very green reflections.
Another look at the Hoh River.
Looking up at the sky thru the tall trees.
Below is the cute Wilson's warbler, easily id from the black line on the top of it's head.
The Northern Rough-winged Swallows were seen near the Hoh River.
There were a few ducks in this pond, but the Wood Ducks were a little closer for a photo.
Beautiful view of the Olympic Mountains and the Hoh River.
The Hoh Rainforest and the Olympic National Park was one of my favorite places to visit in Washington State. If you are ever in the area I highly recommend a visit. I hope you enjoyed my photos.

What a beautiful national park and rain forest. Love your photos.
Thank you for sharing them.
...I'm thankful that you shared those gorgeous sights.
The nature out there looks enriched and how trees reproduced themselves from of the fallen tree tells a natural way of living and teaching how to rise up from the fallen. Nature knows how to survive and only man disturb their cycle. Lovely capture from the national park and I liked the views around the river and mountains
ohhhhh, I feel at peace now. Enjoyed.
Who knew elk could hide so well.
What a stunning landscape. Loved the little Wilson's warbler and how amazing to spot an Elk!
Have a fabulous day Eileen :)
I am in AWE of all those trees and ferns in what I thought your title said was HOT rainforest. ha ha... I love these photos. what a stunning park. I saw on the news Irma destroyed many of FL parks.. throughout the state. our Natl parks are so important to see what our whole country looked like before we paved paradise
Hi there Eileen! What a lush and beautiful place! Have a lovely day!
I've really enjoyed these wonderful views!
I'm glad you shared this with us Eileen. These photos are beautiful! What a lovely spot to visit. My brother once took us to a rainforest on the west coast of Vancouver Is ... very similar forest growth. Aren't they wonderfully mysterious looking forests? That shot of the snow covered mountains is stunning.

Ah, memories. This took me back to mt hiking days. Thank you very much.
What beautiful pictures though my very favorite is number one.
Amazing. Thanks for all pics.
You sure got a beautiful day for your visit.
I bet the elk is quite an imposing creature in real life, not sure I'd want to run into one.
What a lovely location! And that elk - amazing!
The Wood ducks are very beautiful!
wow! That is a beautiful place!
Such classic western scenery. Can you even begin to imagine what it must have been like for explorers like Lewis and Clark when they first set eyes on such vistas? When we visit now, even for the first time, we can know via Google Earth exactly what it will look like. They had no idea what was around the next bend.
Magnificent pics of the wild beauty of the rain forest.
Beautiful scenery.
The elk is big, hope it did not come too close.
Happy weekend from Anne-Mari
Beautiful place and beautiful photos, Eileen. I llllove the hiding elk!!! Kisses, my friend.
Those are some pretty tall trees, Eileen! I would have gotten dizzy looking up at them. And, even though the elk was so shy, you did get a good glimpse. The Hoh River is beautiful and looks to be pretty calm. I love the photo of the river with the mountains in the backdrop. A great walk! Have a very nice weekend!
What wonderful photos of a beautiful place...lucky you!...:)JP
Looking up at the sky thru the tall trees.
Eileen that photo :
Reminded me of getting dizzy just for the fun of it as a child ( out in the country with no net, only 3 channels of TV in the evenings and relying on ourselves and Nature for entertainment :)
Rolling down a hill, lying on my back watching cloud formations, chasing fireflies...such simpler times :) That photo just brought it all back :)
The northwest is such a gorgeous part of the USA, as your photos attest to. Absolutely marvelous Eileen! Enjoy your weekend :)
Enjoyable sights of the Hoh Rainforest, very nice photographs.
Happy weekend, Eileen!
Glorious photos. I don't often look back in the season. I should!
Another post of fantastic nature shots with wonderful clear skies ~ thanks, ^_^
