Hello,
Happy Thursday everyone! On Saturday Jan 20th we enjoyed temps in the 50's. Yay, finally some warm weather to get outside for a walk. Hubby and I went to the local bike trail and stopped at the bridge and our lake for some photos.
I parked on the side of the road before the bridge and stood on the bridge for these photos. I zoomed in to see the Canada Geese and some Ducks.
And if you click on this photo, you can find the Hooded Merganser.
Our lake and the bridge. It was a pretty sky day, lots of blue and some contrails from the jets.
Looking to the right side of the lake from the bridge.
The circles were just below the bridge, they are strange circles in the ice.
I took this hawk photo thru my car window coming back home from the bike trail. Possible Red-shouldered?

Spending time bird watching and outdoors in nature makes me feel happy. What makes you feel happy? Can you slow down the clock, while enjoying nature. It is less stressful. I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.
I am thankful for temperatures in the 50's in January.
I am thankful to enjoy the simple pleasures and nature scenes.

awesome captures today...except the hawk, i did not enjoy seeing the hawk!!
ReplyDeletethose circles on the ice are just so curious!!
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are warming up a bit here in MS, too. Lows at night still below freezing, but day temps are in the 50'sF. Now if the wind would stop blowing for just a little while, it would be a very pleasant day to be out
Nothing beats being outdoors - and your hawk is a Red-shouldered Hawk. Won't be long now before the first migrants start to arrive - especially where you are - a little later here.
ReplyDeleteSpring cannot be far away Eileen......as I am waxing poetic this morning. That's a sure sign. Just waiting to see that first Robin.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
With temps in the 50's we better get out and take advantage of it. There's lots to photograph if we keep our eyes open. So you have some great winter photos.
ReplyDeleteI am AMAZED how many Canada Geese there are around where I live.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of the lake and the river! Happy thursday!
ReplyDeleteYou know how to enjoy life my dear!

ReplyDeleteHello, Loved your post. Thanks for all pics.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from India
Those circles in the ice by the bridge are really interesting. I'm always intrigued watching the ice go out on a lake or pond. A whole different world there!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful how a warm day in January can bring a smile to everyone's face!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the bridge is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLovely day and a beautiful place for a walk and taking photos! The ice rings are quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, Lovely scenes of the lake and all the birds. Beautiful capture of the lake from the right side of the bridge. So glad your weather is warmer. Like you, being outdoors makes me happy.:)
ReplyDeleteYour shot just off the side of the bridge is beautiful, with the shimmering water, and, those circles in the ice water are strange looking. It is nice to enjoy a cool sunny day during the winter! We've had temperatures in the 50's, but the wind is cool. It is so amazing to me, and I'm thankful that ducks love the water even when it's cool outside. Pretty photos, Eileen...have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteStrange circles! If the ice were thicker or if you lived way up north I would think ice fishing. I wonder what caused those!
ReplyDeleteThe circles in the ice are a peculiar sight!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your photos..Kinda looks like a Coopers Hawk..hard to tell..Interesting circles in the ice...current?? Wind??
ReplyDeleteGreat bird shots and that looks like quite a bridge! Thanks for linking up today, Eileen and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, it's much warmer here too! For that I am truly grateful! Have a wonderful weekend1

ReplyDeleteI know you enjoyed that warmer weather, we had a couple nice warm days today was sunny but stayed on the cool side. I never took my jacket off all day while I was out and about. I love geese and you can normally find some other waterfowl hanging out with them. I want a scope!
ReplyDeleteOh my Eileen, what a pretty day. Ice circles how different.
