Happy Monday

Happy Monday everyone!

January 23rd, we have many fire roads around here that lead to our lake. On this day, we took a walk on the fire road that leads us to a Bald Eagle's nest. The nest has been in use for a few years as far as I know. We could not see the eagle on the nest but we did see a Bald Eagle sitting in a nearby tree. There were also a lot of Canada Geese about and a few ducks. Here are the photos from that walk, views of the lake, geese and sky. I hope you enjoy.

In the photo below the eagle is sitting close to the top of the tree on the right side. If you noticed a dark blob, that is the eagle.

Straight across the lake is where the Bald Eagle's nest is, from a distance you would never know the nest is there.

Somehow, all the good stuff is 'just beyond'!!! Still, these are lovely images; water, sky and trees to cement them. Hard to beat! YAM xx

  2. We saw a couple of Wedge-Tailed Eagles in Tasmania - they were not even large enough to be a 'blob' to the naked eye - speck is about all we managed!

  6. It’s great to see that Bald Eagles have made such a recovery in so many areas. It is not exactly common where I live but is no longer unusual.

  9. Oh to have as sharp of an eye as you do! Not that long ago, I was amazed and dazed by what I thought was an eagle soaring over Lake Ouachita. I took shot after shot, hoping to reach through my camera and capture him in all his glory. Not until we arrived home, days later from this reunion, did I see it was an ordinary vulture.

I do need new glasses....that's for sure, but even my camera's zoom lens failed me that day!

  20. Hi Eileen

You are fortunate to live near such beauty!

There is a big controversy going on in my neighborhood as our trail club wants to build a new trail near where Golden Eagles nest. The theory is that eagles do not like to be near humans when they are besting, and opponents to the trail want them left alone. It is always a dilemma mixing nature and people.

Have a wonderful week! Spring is on the horizon!

    Hugs, Pat
