Happy Thankful Thursday!

Happy Thursday & Happy February everyone!

Jan 20th, hubby and I took a walk on the NCR bike trail, the river next to the trail had some snow and ice all along the river bank. The birds were spooking easy just from us walking down the trail. So no bird photos were taken. We did see and hear Mourning Doves, Chickadees and Titmouse, Wrens, Sparrows and Kinglets all along the trail.

A look down the trail.

There is a small waterfall section of the river, that was still very frozen.

We stood on the dam and looked over, the dam gates were open letting water out. One side of the rivers edge was frozen from the dam gate water.

The sky above the Prettyboy Dam

Jan 20th sunset from our deck and a sliver of moon above the tree.

I hope you enjoyed these photos and my pretty sunset. Are you a skywatcher?

I am thankful to see a beautiful and colorful sunset.
I am thankful for all your visits and comments.

  1. oh it sounds your area beard lots of snow lately dear eileen!

trails look fabulous but little barren as i am used to see lots of birds in your captures always still nature's each angle is splendid !

hope you are perfectly fine as here we though did not have snow in southern part of country still our northern area are having heavy snow and this is why cold winds are causing flu and fever everywhere

  2. When you have a view like that, my friend, you don't need the birds for a visual (perhaps a musical accompaniment would be nice!) What a gorgeous day and how very beautiful that water is. I love it.

  3. I am a skywatcher and I wish I were as good a sky photographer as you are! Thank you for letting me know that you occasionally take walks where the birds do not cooperate. It gives me hope! That is a beautiful trail -- and I am sure it felt wonderful to get outside and move.

  12. Lovely snow and icy scenes. Maybe there was someone else further down the track, or an animal that scared the birds. Super sky with a crescent moon.

  38. Hello Eileen, I'm glad you got to hear the birds on your walk at least. The photos show everything so beautifully. It would have been a very brisk walk with all that snow still around perhaps.
Magnificent sunset photos - such glorious colours... you often manage to capture such beauties! I loved seeing that little sliver of moon.

  46. Good morning Eileen, Yes I did enjoy your captures, it was like being there too. I had hoped to tour more outdoor places while I was in Alabama recently but my daughter had our schedules pretty tight! My shopping adventure (1) with Lyra was at their outdoor mall, which is the best way to shop.
