Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love critters like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
January 25, I noticed this Red-shouldered Hawk sitting in our weeping cherry tree. It is not far from my feeders and deck. This hawk looked huge, I assume it was a female. I read that the females hawks are larger than the male hawks. The female can be 25-35 percent larger than the male.
I thought I saw another large bird flying into the pine tree in the back park of the yard. I was thinking the male might have been hanging around too.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments this past year !
Here is a list of my linky parties;

Lovely hawk - I'm just fascinated by the patterns on their feathers.
Fantastic capture!
Really a beautiful bird.
BTW no Blue Moon for me: it was too cloudy, dark, rainy...
Have a nice weekend!
not fun for us close to the feeder, but the hawk needs food too. That´s life. Great shots :)
A beautiful couple.
A hawk symbolizes strength.
Waiting fro breakfast no doubt Eileen. Thanks for hosting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Great capture - I do think that these birds are learning that smaller, prey birds, feed at these places and are therefore easy targets. That's nature at work! Have a great weekend. YAM xx
What a beauty!
Have a wonderful week-end!
Hello Eileen, your photos of the Red-shouldered hawk are beautiful. Thanks for sharing and for hosting this meme. I've managed to link up today! Yay! Have a great day. Jo
Beautiful Eileen!
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful pictures of the hawk.
I wish you a very good weekend.
Best regards, Irma
Nice visitor! Our local red-shoulders lost their nest in Hurricane Irma. The pine tree went down and took about 5 Melaleucas with it. They are still in the wooded grove but I cannot find their nest so far.
Thank you for hosting this wonderful party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful Hawk. I love your bird photos.
I wish you a wonderful weekend!
Beautiful pics.
Happy Weekend.
Hello Eileen!!
Wonderful pictures of this beautiful hawk!
Great captures!
I’m sure it’s waiting for lunch...poor little birds!
Wishing you a lovely weekend and a happy February!
Dimi...
The hawk will now hunt for birds that will be at the feeder. This is the life of birds, sometimes cruel. Regards.
Hello Eileen. It is interesting how such large birds can "vanish" in the canopy like that. They have a knack of just sitting quietly too, part of their always successful hunting strategies.
Thanks for the linkup today. Hope your weather improves soon.
What a magnificent hawk!!
Great sighting, not a visitor you want to the garden all the time.
Beautiful hawk! They have a nice feather pattern!
Red-shouldered Hawk is a very handsome raptor, not common here, unfortunately.
A magnificent creature, Eileen!
Thanks for hosting and have a good week.
handsome hawk!
How beautiful! And it's such a good time to get pics when the leaves are off the trees. It's even easier to see birds here right now wish most leaves off the trees. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!
Very nice. I love to watch raptors of all kinds.
Excellent pictures of that hawk. Wish I could be so lucky!!
Thanks, thrilling, E!
Hello Eileen!:)How exciting to see the Red-shouldered Hawk in your yard. It's a magnificent bird of prey,...and lovely to look at in your photos.. Thank you for hosting Eileen, and have a great weekend.:)
Oh my, he is pretty, basking in the sunlight. Have a wonderful day!
The neatest thing about hawks, their screech through the woods when they are out of sight.
:]
Marvelous photos of the Red Hawk ~ favorite is the first one!
Happy Weekend to you,

Great photos of the hawk Eileen. She's a pretty one. It is easier to see some of the different birds while there are no leaves on the trees. Yesterday I spotted two redheaded woodpeckers in my mulberry tree, but couldn't get a good picture of them. I was so excited to actually see two of them together! Have a great weekend, and stay warm!
What a beauty!
Beautiful hawk! I hope your little song birds are on alert.
Please remove my first link. It was a mistake!
These birds are dangerous to our small winged friends !!
Gorgeous pictures of the hawk !!
Happy weekend :)
Beautiful photos of the Red-shouldered Hawk, have a wonderful weekend Eileen.
Majestic!
She looks powerful, Eileen!
I saw a Red-breasted Nuthatch today again!
You must have footsteps like an angel on a cloud to not scare them away. Wonderful photos.
Wow, just outside of your window ! Very nice !
A really nice shot! Maybe you'll have a nesting of the pair?
Good Morning Dearest Eileen; Oh, I have never seen a Hawk before p:-) I thought she is a cutey for a rapture♡♡♡ She was sitting in your weeping cherry tree; Oh, that's AMAZING ♫♫♫

Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend, xoxo Miyako*
Hello Eileen, what lovely views! Magnificent beauty, indeed. It's good to be back and posting here on Saturday!
What a beautiful bird. I recently captured a few lovely bird photos in my yard that I'm sure you'll enjoy. I would link up here, but honestly, I haven't been spending much time online.
Have a great week Eileen,
Andrea
Such a beautiful hawk, great capture!
Hawks fascinate me. I'm always trying to get a good pic. These are great shots!
Sure is a beautiful BIG bird.
Gorgeous bird!
Great pictures of the hawk!
Wonderful shots, we have a lot of hawks around here but I think they are red-tailed hawks.
Beautiful captures! That second shot is amazing.
Beautiful captures! That second shot is amazing.
I rarely get a chance to photograph a hawk. Seems like I only see them from the highway.
Beautiful hawk! He has definitely scared the other birds away!
I had never seen a red-shouldered hawk until last fall when there was a group at our market had one that they had rescued. He was just beautiful as is the one you share. Thank you! Wishing you well!
Great hawk photos. We have one hanging around our backyard area as well. Guess they are good at seeking out easy meals. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Excellent capture with detail on the hawk! Interesting to know females are sized big than male. Happy birding
Beautiful pictures of the Hawk..I hope everybody is on the alert..she could be hungry..
Eileen...thaks so much for dropping by and sharing this post with us birders at I'd Rather B Birdin'
You really got some good photos of the hawk. I have them in my yard too and I always enjoy watching them.
They have such watchful eyes! That size thing is true about Eagles too or so it says on the website for 'our' eagle nest. I wonder if it is the same all birds of prey?
Lovely pictures of the Red-shouldered Hawk! Happy new week!
In the second shot, she is looking very intently at something ... so enthralling!
I'm enjoying all of the green in your pics today.
what a gorgeous creature! wonderful captures!
