Glorious photos - any one of them could have been taken here in NW Washington state - it is fun to see similar birds and landscape in other parts of the country. Hope you are enjoying your time off. Happy weekend.

Wishing you a lovely day and a happy weekend!
Dimi...
A great variety of birds!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend!
You obviously had a very rewarding day for waterfowl. In about another month those Tundra Swans will be arriving here in massive numbers as they wend their way to their Arctic breeding grounds. It is one of the great spectacles of nature to see them arrive in their thousands.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I have heard about tundra swan, but never seen it in live.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very productive visit. I especially like the swans. I have seen them only a few times, in Alaska and the west coast (except for ubiquitous Mute Swans!). We rarely get to see Snow Geese in south Florida.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see so many different kinds of birds on a lovely sunny day, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing the Great Blue Heron!
That was quite a flock of snow geese!
Thanks for hosting! Have a great day!

You have me dreaming of a quiet morning a the lake.

ReplyDeletei see a lot of these here, i usually see the shovelers here in winter and i have not this year. i have been seeing the buffleheads but they stay so far from the shoreline, they are difficult to photograph. also, the ones i see are always diving. that is a nice capture of a big group!!
love the heron and that's a great capture of the hawk. i have not seen mine in a while!!
i hope you enjoyed your trip, many thanks for hosting...have a wonderful weekend!!
Hello Eileen. I know you go to Bombay Hook often and I'm not surprised as it does seem to hold a great number of species and huge numbers of each. It would be a place I would visit a lot and be great rewarding fun finding all those different species.

ReplyDeleteThere was no snow owl, and there were many, many miraculous birds. I think the walk was successful. Regards.
ReplyDeletePretty! I am amazed at the numbers of snow geese!
ReplyDeleteSnow geese are amazing in that they are in huge dense flocks. Fly over them and you get a different perspective again.
ReplyDeleteThrilled to be back among your wonderful critters!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to see so many swans! And your last pic of the hawk is great.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds Eileen, my favourite is the Buffleheads, glorious.

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen many hawks lately but I know there are plenty if you look more carefully. I did see a lot of turkeys in a field off the hwy this week, I've never seen so many turkeys in one spot. Nice series, and I like the way you label everything for us.

I really enjoy looking through flocks of waterfowl, there is always a surprise in there somewhere...so much easier than the woodland birds around here up in the trees hiding behind the leaves, wayyy up in the break neck section...lol I love just looking across the water and there they are! Really nice list of species on your visit.

Besos.
Good morning Eileen, I have to catch up, and I will be back with a critter post, I got blindsided by the horrible deaths in Florida, and my window post set for posting. Just when I think our country can't dip worse and bring such depth of sadness and heartbreak it does. I do sense these children and the supporters they have will make a major difference. Hope and pray every single day.
ReplyDeleteI just love Bombay Hook (wish I could visit it IRL , but your posts always make me feel as if I'd been there!
ReplyDeleteWhile a few seem to hang around this area ( southwestern PA ) all year we get a large amount of Canadian Geese in the spring / early summer at a local park and I just love to see them and their babes )
ReplyDelete( and goose-step around their business there ha ha :)
Beautiful captures :)
It's always fantastic to see so many different creatures in close proximity. Awesome shots.
