Thankful Thursday

Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

On April 8th, hubby and I met up with my friend for dinner in York Pennsylvania. Since we were nearby we decided to check out the Great Egret rookery and the Black Crowned Night Herons nesting in York Pa. York Pa is only a 30 minute drive from home.

Great Egret nesting tree.

There are 4 Black Crowned Night Herons in the photo below, the 4th one is kind of hidden.

Great Egret in a pretty sky.

A view of the Kiwanis Lake in York Pa, the pine trees in the middle left of the photo are where the egrets and herons are nesting.

I am thankful to be able to see the birds above at their nest.
I am thankful for good friends.
I am thankful for all your visits and comments.

  46. What a privilege to see their habitat! We have a heron rookery near, but not very close, and I have to stand on the highway to view them. sigh.

  47. You had me at "Great heron rookery" because I think of herons as wading birds. Their size made me think of the bald eagles nesting in trees "back home" in British Columbia, whose nests can be 10 feet across.
Now I've researched herons, and I'm impressed. I'm always happy to research things I learn from blogs, even if it does keep me at the computer all day.
Did I say I love your photos?
