Happy Monday, enjoy your day and new week!
Happy Memorial Day, thanks to our veterans and current military who give all to protect us!
I am sharing more from Hocking Hills State Park and our road trip. These are images from Ohio and from our hike to Old Man's Cave. We got our exercise on this hike, there were too many steps to count. We went up and we went down, all on a loop hike all around Old Man's Cave. There are 3 waterfalls, The Upper Falls was closest to the the parking lot, the others were a hike away. Considering we were there on a week day, the place was crowded.
There is a story of an old man in the 1800's made the recess cave his home.
So many steps, I made a mosaic showing some of the steps we had to walk up and down. After these hikes my legs felt like rubber, since we did 3 parts of this park in one day.
The trail went over this bridge took us to the Lower Falls.
Lower Falls at the Old Man's Cave.
The Trillium wildflowers were plentiful.
Looking out of the Old Man's Cave.
It was a little confusing at Old Man's Cave we saw a few signs that said Upper Falls and Lower Falls. It seems there were 2 Upper Falls in different areas.
A couple of Northern Rough-winged Swallows near the falls and cave.
The was the Upper Falls by the parking lot just a nice short walk.
Hubby and I enjoyed this park and all the hikes we did. I still have more from Ohio visit and more Ohio parks to share. I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.
Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to the host today. Enjoy your day and new week ahead.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

Those are some impressive steps! There was a time I would have loved exploring there... now my legs would not even permit me to begin. So am very glad I can see it through your lens! YAM xx
I am sure that your legs are now well toned and muscled!
This is just breathtaking. Stunning! But I had to chuckle a little at the sign: Retail Shop. Haha...really, we need one of those? ;-D
Hello,
Thanks to Mildred, Indah, Chica, Dimi, Yam and David for the comments.
...what a beautiful spot to spend the day, enjoy your week.
Trillium and waterfalls! Two of my very favorite things and these look especially lovely.
Beautiful images Eileen.Just paddling in the creek.
beautiful park and my legs feel funny just looking at all those beautiful stairs... I wonder if they let women in the old mans cave or is there one old women to...
What a beautiful area with the many unique waterfalls.
Wow, a really cool place to walk through. Thanks for sharing. My legs would be killing me after walking all of those stairs.
What a beautiful place and fantastic photography!
Peaceful Memorial Day to you,
C & Z
That was quite a hike! Thank you for the beautiful pictures .... I love waterfalls and doubt that even if we were there we could manage all those stairs. I don't think about Ohio having such wonderful natural areas. Which just shows (once again) that even after spending some time in every state we have missed way way too much beauty and nature!!
I love that lake and waterfall - so beautiful!
A beautiful area for a hike! Terrific shots!
Hello Eileen,
So special cave! Wonderful waterfalls and trillium! How I love them ♡
Happy new week ahead!
It's all so very beautiful, so many water subjects in nature there. I especially love the Northern Rough-winged Swallows. Any bird that eats insects is automatically right at the top of my like list. Have a wonderful Memorial Day and week Eileen~
So many beautiful photos from your hike around the park.
Wow that is a LOT of stairs to climb.
A wonderful cave, and photos from down below are stunning. I could see someone living there, peaceful, safe, and clear water right there. Crystal clear too.
Your best post ever!
The waterfalls are so lovely, Eileen! And your bridge pic is a winner!
Hello,
The place is beautiful and must be relaxing to hear the waterfalls!
The swallows are just lovely.
Have a good week!
I remember all the steps to climb Diamonhead in Hawaii!! And it was hot & humid, I could barely stand it...then, once I finally made it to the top, there was a woman in her mid 80's with crutches. I felt like a heel complaining.
Excellent collages!
When we had our motor home, we stayed overnight at Hocking Hills State park on a trip. It's a beautiful area. How about all the steps though! EEEEEE!!!!
Oh my, that is a heavenly little spot below the waterfall. Hope you and yours have had a meaningful Memorial Day and, yes, a huge thank you to the veterans and people currently serving!
Interesting scenery - i like the tunnel
Lovely place to hike
What a beautiful park and hike! Did you feel like Rocky when he climbed the steps to the Philadelphia Art Museum? :-)
Wonderful photos! I can tell that was a difficult hike from all those stair photos, Eileen! It was worth the effort to see those waterfalls and interesting cave.
Great place! And all this beauty is complemented by the sound of the falling waterfall!
I just love water falls..I have never photographed them but some day will run down to Md..hopefully..Beautiful pictures..Old Mans Cave looks like a great photo op..thanks for sharing..
What a gorgeous place and not too far from me. That last photo is my favorite!
What a beautiful hike! Totally worth the sore legs.
What a beautiful place!
Have a wonderful week!
I've never visited a cave hopeful I will get the oppertunity to do so
Hi Eileen, Beautiful tour you gave us and I loved the mosaic of the stairs!
Hi Eileen, i am sure by now you know i love waterfalls, as i know you love birds, hehe. And i make distances and sacrifice a bit just to see them. However, our waterfalls here are far from us and mostly difficult to reach. Those you posted here seems a bit dry, do they get bigger after heavy rains in some seasons?
Cool place
Very pretty and a worthwhile hike. It reminds me of an area west of here.
A gorgeous place!! We were there last Fall.
What a beautiful place. I can imagine the sound of the falls as they tumble into that gorgeous blue pool.
oh boy eileen, that's a lot of steps, i'm afraid i could not walk that!! i adore the peace and tranquility of the waterfalls and those pretty wildflowers. you are seeing and photographing a lot this year!!!
How wonderful is this place?! I think I could make a home there, but maybe not in a damp cave. A little cabin maybe? That would be amazing.
Have a great week,
Andrea
wow, what a place. And all steps. My legs would have ached too. :) But I would have walked them. Love the cave and falls and everything you share here :)
Those falls look beautiful
Mollyx
That looks beautiful but it's certainly a lot of steps. There aren't many flat trails where I live!
I have never been to a place like this. It looks so beautiful. I would love to visit those waterfalls and turquoise pools.
such a beautiful place and photos!
Interesting and very nice pictures!
Que lindas imagens. Adorei ver. Feliz dia.

Absolutely love these photos! The falls are so delicate and the tones of the color is just right. Love the little swallows tucked in under the rock...and more beautiful trillium. Have a great week!
