Happy Monday,
I am continuing our road trip. After leaving Mammoth Cave NP and Bowling Green Kentucky we headed to our next night stay at the Cumberland Falls Resort State Park.
This is a Google map of our road trip. The trip dates were from May 1st to may 11th.
On May 7th-8th we stayed at the Cumberland Falls Resort Lodge,. We had a nice room in the lodge for the night. Their restaurant was perfect for dinner and breakfast the next day.
A view of the river above the falls.
Pretty sure this is a Song Sparrow, seen near the river's edge.
Rainbow at the Cumberland Falls.
The recent rain helped the falls look great with lots of water.
Me and my shadow at the falls.
The view of the river and park from the resort's restaurant. I was happy to see a worker come along and fill all the bird feeders outside the windows.
Thanks for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.
Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to the host today. Enjoy your day.
As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

It really is very beautiful. I've often heard about the Moon-bow there at certain times. I would love to visit the falls.
...yet another destination to put on the list.
It looks beautiful, lovely nature Eileen.
Great to see a map of your trip as well! The falls must have made a break in any river travel for early pioneers. Beautiful photos!
Hello,
What a beautiful place! Pretty images from the Cumberland Falls.
Happy Monday, and Happy New Week!
Another great stay at the Resort Lodge. A beautiful place this Cumberland Falls. Great view from the restaurant too!
That waterfall is gorgeous. What a nice place to stay too.
I last saw this Cumberland falls view of river and rocks and falls about 60 years ago, it was 1957 I think and I don't think the resort was there.
We have camped here before. Such a beautiful place!
So nice hanging with you, E
I love this place I camped there in late Aug of 2016. I met this preacher and his wife who had just began a journey camping in a dodge caravan, and I often think of them.
Wow what fun you are having. Beautiful area and beautiful shots.

Love that rainbow shot, you caught it real nice.
A beautiful location with gorgeous views. Enjoy your day, Eileen.
What a beautiful tranquil spot for a holiday...
Have a good week!
What a lovely spot! Thanks for the map, Eileen!
Looks fabulous! Have a great week.
Beauty place to stay, and the feeders, what a treat right outside the window.
Beautiful photos - it is such a wonderful place to visit. I wrote a post on Cumberland Resort last summer. Looks like you had a great time.
The falls are beautiful!
Such a beautiful area and a nice place to stay!
A river, a waterfall, and happy birds...it doesn't get much better than that! Thanks for sharing.

What a BEAUTIFUL place.
A beautiful area to vacation. I'm glad you included the map and the distance. It helps me figure out where you were, lol. It looks like you travelled quite a long distance.
I always get a kick out of your shadow shots :)
That's quite the road trip and a gorgeous destination!
Great trip Eileen and great photos. Thank you for including the map. I always enjoy looking at them. Enjoy your week :)
Wow those are lovely scenes, most specially because of that waterfalls. I am always attracted by them. By the way, till now i don't know how to put the trails on google map as you did, how to put those blue lines. Can you tell me how to do that? Sorry Eileen, i am so dumb with these things, hehehe.
Looks like a good outing. I love your rainbow shadow selfie!
Beautiful countryside. You passed quite close to me on your way. : )
Stunning views. Awesome pics.
That's some journey Eileen. Looks to be a beautiful location there and even bird feeders at your window. They must have known you were on the way.
beautiful place!
What a beautiful views.
Have a nice day.
I'm a few days behind...
...you gave me a lot to gape at.
:)
Hi! Nice trip for you. It looks the rainbow congratulates you. I hope you will enjoy your trip. BTW. I go to Yellow stone park in USA from 28th in this month.
Hello Minoru, you will love Yellowstone. It is one of my favorite parks to visit. Enjoy your trip! Thanks for the comment.
I always enjoy going travelling with you and seeing the world through your camera Eileen. Happy travels!
A nice picture of you and your shadows taking a picture of the rainbow. That’s serendipity at play. :)
Sounds that you had a wonderful trip! Amazing shots! Happy to see the rainbow on the water! Beautiful waterfalls:)
Oh such a lovely place and beautiful nature photography and a rainbow! Love the little sparrow perched on the wood!
Happy Day to you,

Wow, that trip looks fantastic! I need to plan my own summer road trip. So far, we are camping this weekend in San Diego County. Really like the waterfalls you have shown here. It must be nice to stay in a lodge close to a river.
I love following you along your journey.... You definitely got to visit several of our very favorite places... Anyone who wants to see a pretty waterfall should visit Cumberland Falls... The water is usually always good --and that rainbow is so special. We went there once and saw the Moonbow during the night.... That was very special also.
Gla you enjoyed it.. We've stayed in their lodge also and eaten in their restaurant...
Hugs,
Betsy
Did you see where I mentioned you on Facebook? I posted a sunrise picture from the Thorofare Mtn. Overlook near Skyland from our trip there last August.... I think you posted a similar picture not long ago.
There is so much to see and do in that area, Eileen. I'm sad I never visited those places---maybe someday I will! The waterfalls are dramatic and so beautiful--love the rainbow they made
Beautiful lodge and scenery!
Very pretty sights and you are hitting places I've always wanted to go. You've got a great eye for birds so I'm sure you're right. Excellent rainbow capture!
That is a very nice place !
Looks a lovely area, I enjoyed your photographs.
Lovely to see the rainbows and your shadow shot was fun!
Enjoy your week
All the best Jan
It looks beautiful. Kentucky is still on my to-visit list.
Hello. I loved your trip and the place. The river and the falls are very charming. In addition to your shadow on the water there are also beautiful rainbows. I love them. Best wishes and thanks for kindly commenting with me.
what a pretty area eileen, the waterfalls are exceptionally beautiful!! gorgeous capture of the song sparrow, that is one i see in my yard all the time. never in the trees, only on the ground...and it is a quick mover!!
the rainbows are such a treat, and a cool find when produced by the water/waterfalls!!!
i have never been to kentucky, i should add this area to my travel list!!!
i am waving right back, what a great day, i love the rainbow. so fun!! take care. bye. ( :
I remember Mammoth Cave NP from when we were RVing... do not remember the Falls which means we must have missed it, darn it! I would love to go back to Kentucky -- we definitely enjoyed our time there.
Hmm, looks like a place I'd like to see! That's a lot of road to cover considering that it's mountainous.
Eileen - this is one of the spots my husband and I went for our honeymoon! Back then, we were poor as church mice, but more importantly, as a resident alien, he could not leave the US right after we were married, so no EXOTIC honeymoon for us! We loved this part of our trip, including some rafting on the river.
By the way, I may not be commenting as often for the next few weeks since I will have my in-laws visiting from the UK. We are going to have a great time!
Loved the lodge you stayed at the park and the river and falls are just wonderful!
The lodge looks like a wonderful place to stay, rustic and welcoming. It's nice to have a loop trip so that you see different things as you progress. - Margy
The map really helps! I'm not good at US geography!
that is quite a trip, thanks for sharing :)
