Can a birder have two spark birds? If so I would say it is a toss up between the Eastern Bluebird and Rose-breasted Grosbeak. All it takes was just one look. Spark bird, it is when a casual observance became an obsession over the birds. That's me, I am addicted to birds. Have you had a spark moment, a spark bird?
The Eastern Bluebird, my spark bird. One day I watched out my window at the Bluebirds checking out all the bird houses in my yard. They were only house hunting and chose to find another home in someone else's yard. This is my unhappy face :(
I think the male above is telling his partner to go inside and check out my bird house.
Go ahead inside, what are you waiting for?
Now, the female is telling the male to go inside and check out the next house.
It is all about the location, location location.
Now, he is thinking his partner is just too picky. What is wrong with these two beautiful houses, they are right next to the blueberry bushes.
I appreciate and thank everyone who links up their post and for all the wonderful comments !
Here is a list of my linky parties;

Lovely, lovely birds - and so hard to choose a a favorite - love the bluebird especially. Happy happy weekend.
Fantastic Eastern Bluebirds! Lovely shots. I don't know what my spark bird would be...that's hard to decide. Thanks for hosting. I always love participating!
Your picky Eastern Bluebirds are lovely!

I love the story, and can just imagine sitting there and hearing them talk.
Great series of shots and captions.
Hello Eileen,
Wonderful series of these bluebirds.
Best regards, Irma
What a delightful post and Eileen i think these 2 American birds would be my special birds also. Love your story telling of what is happening and only sorry they did not choose your bird box. Thanks for hosting and have a wonderul weekend. Also thanks for linking me in previously when I was away on holiday.
can´t remember having a spark bird moment. It was actually photography that opened my eyes to birding. They give me a challenge I need. They are beautiful, at least most of them. You can study behavier. looks. ages, plumage, you name it. Never stops. And you get to travel a lot :) I have favorites of course, who son´t. :)
forgot aboutthe housing problem. My daughter and her husband was about to buy a cottage, but the bank said no. Guess the Bluebirds don´t have that problem. :)
...Eastern Bluebird, what gorgeous critters, thanks for hosting.
Thanks everyone for the comments!
Great series of images … every picture tells the story.
My spark bird … hearing a Bittern boom for the first time AND then seeing this elusive species fly over a reedbed.
Have a glorious weekend.
I don’t know whether I have a spark bird, but I think that if I were absolutely pressed to pick a favourite it would be Black-capped Chickadee. I have seen almost 3,500of the world’s species but this wonderful little treasure is our friendly companion year- round, whatever the weather, and its lively chatter enlivens even the coldest day.
Muito lindos, como sempre! Que teu fim de semana seja muito bom! bjs, chica
Loved this post Eileen . . .
I have seen the Rose Breasted Grosbeek at the feeders this summer . . .
I need to create a blue bird haven . . .
My “spark” . . . a baby oriole . . . wow . . .
Lindos estes belos pássaros.
Um abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

Cute pics of all the birds, especially the male telling his mate to check out your bird house. I love birds and bemoan the fact that I don't get out to find them as much as before. My spark bird would be a kingfisher, especially the Giant Kingfisher. Thanks for hosting this meme. Have a great day. Jo
Beautiful bird photos.
Greetings
Good morning Eileen. Your choice of spark birds in understandable - two lovely looking species. It's such a shame that the bluebirds chose your neighbours as their home. But with luck you will still see the birds around when they are feeding. And with luck they will choose your garden next year. Thanks for the link-up today.
Ah, such wonderful shots of the blue birds! Thank you for hosting this lovely party! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
I'm envious of your bluebirds! They have a lot of competition here from House Sparrows so I don't see them often.
Beautiful shots, Eileen. I love those bluebirds!
that's me with my purple martin house, of course I never get them in there but I do get blue birds and Great Crested Flycatchers. Love the photos and the commentary!
Nice series of shots. I love bluebirds!
Happy Father's Day, to your family, Eileen. IN Australia we celebrate Father's Day on the first Sunday of September!
Thanks for hosting.
i have had a spark moment - that winter the oriole visited me. i took care of that bird all winter, i had never seen one here before or since!!
the bluebirds are gorgeous, you are so lucky to see them. you captured some beautiful moments!!
many thanks for all your kind comments and for hosting this meme!!!
Great story, E!
Magnificent!
Just love this series and your communication notes on blue bird’s house hunting! Fun shooting and chasing on birds
Hi Eileen, great post. Love your bluebird story. I am attracted to them but not having much luck getting them to live in my bluebird houses. I've put out three houses, mealworm feed but no one wants to stay. Two came and visited but moved on. Going to put a water source for them next.
I don't do birds, rarely take pics of them, but cows or anything with four legs and fur is my spark...
My partner is a little picky too. But that's okay.
Cute post and love those bluebirds
Beautiful bird family and wonderful captions to go with it ~ lovely photography!
Happy Weekend to you,

Love the pictures and the commentary.
I imagine that if there's one bird that particularly stands out to me, it would have to be the blue heron, with its infinite patience while standing in water, waiting for a bite to come swimming by.
Beautiful shots, Eileen!
Wonderful photos of the Bluebirds!
I have liked seeing birds all my life, but it was after I retired that I really began to pay attention to them. A few years ago I saw a Great Blue Heron standing in a drainage ditch, peering intently into the water. It was at the intersection of two busy streets near a Shopping Mall, and I was amazed to see it! As my husband stopped at the intersection, I rolled my car window down and snapped a few quick photos. I bought a bird book to get an ID, and I have been an avid bird-watcher ever since!
Have a great weekend!
Such a lovely post.
I love all the photographs and your commentary made me laugh :)
Enjoy your weekend, and Happy Father's Day to all who celebrate.
All the best Jan
Your bluebirds are gorgeous.. I wish my camera captured such color and clarity!
I'm saying the same thing about no one picking my house to buy. What's the matter with you people? :)
Great shots of these birds, Eileen.
Happy Father's Day weekend!
Eileen - your commentary on these pictures was spot on! Aren't their faces just so expressive? I think my spark bird was the pileated woodpecker! Thanks for hosting, and enjoy your weekend!
Lovely photos, particularly the last one, with the baby's mouth open :)
Thanks for hosting, Eileen.
Happy WE!
Peace :)
Hi Eileen, what a bunch of birds, beautiful images.
I love bluebirds! And they have such variations in color. Enjoy your weekend and your bluebirds of happiness! Hugs!
The Blue bird would thrill me too, Eileen!
I'm not a birder but I am always happy when I see great blue herons, meadowlarks, and cardinals. I love those birds.
Very nice !
Hi! They are very cute, Thanks for sharing.
Cute post..Love your interpretation of their interaction..Mine are feeding their babies now so I guess all is well.Have a happy Fathers Day!!!
Quiet little beauties. there aren't very many out here in the west.
Such pretty birds and they move so quick like little darts of colour.
Merle.......
Hi Eileen, Love the pics AND your captions. :-) Very cool. Thanks for sharing and hosting. Have a happy weekend!
Enjoyed the nice bird story! My favourite is the 1st picture in the shape of a heart! Have a great weekend!
I can SO related to those bluebirds. Even for little birdies, house hunting is HARD!!!! LOL
Aww, what a cute story!
It's fun to watch the antics of the birds at a feeder!
Hello Eileen,
Beautiful photos! I really love the Bluebirds. The color is so nice. Happy Sunday!
I'm still sorting photos! It's not like the days of 24 shots per film.
I do enjoy your birds. We went to a bird sanctuary on our travels!!!
Love how you outlined the bluebird & grosbeak with the heart!
Thanks so much for sharing this with us bird watchers this week! Always appreciated.
Birds have beautiful colours! Nice shots.
Thank you for hosting.
Oh, they are so beautiful !!
Lovely photos !!
Happy weekend !
The male Bluebird usually makes a ring of white pine needles to impress the female. Sometimes he makes a few presentations to get her to pick one.
Terrific shots of the bluebirds.
Fun post ( I've neither of these around here :)
I totally understand and can why you love them, Eileen! There really are eye-catching and fun to watch.
My favorite is the Eastern Phoebe. But I have to admit, that the last few days I have been taken by the hodge-podge singing, loud and proud of a Catbird.
Beautiful, Eileen. And I hope the men in your life had wonderful Fathers Days too!
Good morning Eileen! Your heart photo is just adorable and it spells out our love for critters, from all walks. You have brighten my rainy day, which just might be a blessing from the humid weather lately! Maybe. We'll see, but it's great for my baby tomato plants. Enjoy you DAY.
We are birdless this year, at least as far as nesting birds. Our barn swallow pair disappeared and we had to take our tree swallow boxes down for construction. I sure miss their company. - Margy
Great story and photos!! =)
