Happy Monday, have a great new week!
Wishing everyone a happy 4th of July! Be safe!
During our road trip 2018 we visited the Natural Bridge Resort State Park. It is located near the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. We took the hike to the Natural Bridge starting off from the visitor center/resort.
Pine Siskins at the feeders outside the resort. They were also all over the nearby trees.
We started off on the shortest hardest hike to see the Natural Bridge.
Some pretty wildflowers seen off the trail. Not sure of their id?
Standing under the Natural Bridge, a natural sandstone arch.
Heading up the skinny steps to the top of the Natural Bridge.
Part of the trail was very narrow.
We are on the top of the Natural Bridge.
Looking over at the point and end of the trail.
At the end of the trail looking back at the Natural Bridge.
A view of the sky from the last lookout.
A view from the top and end of the trail.
Thanks for your visit today! I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

I have always heard about the natural bridge, and now I have these wonderful close up photos of it! It is an amazing sight. Thanks for sharing your Kentucky trip. Have a wonderful 4th of July
You certainly got to enjoy a whole bunch of beautiful areas. I am sure you enjoyed all the Pine Siskins.
Que belo parque esse e tuas fotos nos levam a contigo por lá passear! Ótima semana! bjs, chica
A wonderful hike at the Natural Bridge! Love all the nature photos.
...nature at its best!
That path leads to a wonderful place...
That natural bridge is awesome. What a green place too, the forest looks so healthy and inviting.
Great to hike along with you (Virtually) through your photos...which really give a good sense of what it was like!
SO beautiful!
I'm not sure we could fit through that narrow part. Steve has pretty wide shoulders. (And, THAT is why we couldn't do the wild cave tour at Mammoth Cave.)
Hello Eileen,
I think the unknown plant is a form of Geranium. The Natural Bridge was very special.
Happy Monday!
The narrow steps remind me of Fat Man's Pass in Arizona.

Oh my word, what a trek - but fantabulous!!! Am finally back from my own travelling... have got nearly 800 images to sort through... &*> YAM xx
What a lovely area, a tight squeeze in places.happy 4th!!!
I love the look of the steps on the narrow path but would not even think of walking into that narrow hole
What a beautiful trail, even if some parts are a real squeeze!
Happy 4th July!

Wow you really show it like we were there too!
Fabulous hike in the nature reserve, beautiful shown Eileen.
What a lovely area for a walk!
Wonderful views from the tops, and those steps!!! I always wonder at those huge stones and rock faces, how the years have made them the colour and shape they are today.
Hi, We also enjoyed our time at Natural Bridge.. We did several of the hikes in that area --including the one you took... I had never been to that place --until our friends suggested that we go there... I was amazed as to the natural beauty in that entire area. We also did some hiking in the Red River Gorge area... I hope to go back sometime since there's so much more to see and do!!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Cool rock formation! It's fun to see parks from different parts of the US.
Beautiful -- I like the views outside of the narrow slot the best, but that same narrow passage -- and the stairs -- make a wonderful photo record of all you went through to get those terrific photos of the views!!
An awesome place/hike. Mother did well there.
Thanks for taking us along.
What a pretty viewpoint, Eileen! The stairs and narrow passage looks claustrophobic, not that I have any trouble with that! lol
Fantastic and creative nature shots! Love the rather unique ones! like the stone path ~
Happy Day to you,

Great shots of the beautiful landscape
What an interesting place to go hiking. So much beauty to see.
You two certainly get around!
That's a tight squeeze. We have a Natural Bridge here in VA too.
Hope you enjoy your 4th, here it will be quiet I hope...I've never been to this park, sure is an awesome natural formation.
That is so cool. I'd love to walk along there!!!
This is such a pretty area! Those stairs look tricky to go up on. So narrow. Loved seeing the birds.
Amazing trail, natural bridge . . ,
Great pictures . . .
Looks like a tight squeeze at one spot!
I loved that trail to the natural bridge. Our Turkey Mountain has some similar very narrow trails between boulders but no natural bridges. I'd love to see this.
I really enjoyed going on the hike with you Eileen. Have a fabulous 4th of July!
Hello, Another Beautiful post. Amazing Photos. Thanks a lot for sharing.
I love the purple flowers . It look a bit like flowers from coleus plant
Great nature and a beautiful path. Would love to walk such a route.
That looks to be a very interesting and rather unique walk Eileen. And you had Pine Siskins too, a lovely bird. I like the flowers but I'm with you in not being able to name them.
impressive place!
I would have loved that hike when I was young and fit. And that rock bridge is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice ! I like the natural bridge !
It looks like ideal conditions for a hike. Happy Fourth of July!
I'm pretty sure I couldn't make it through the skinny bridge --but what a beautiful spot to hike!
Looks a little scary up there! Have a great holiday.
Happy 4th July Eileen. No comments?
What a fun place to visit!
Have a wonderful day!
So lovely to see your photographs, it looks a very nice area.
But, goodness that is a tight squeeze in places!
All the best Jan
Happy 4th July to you too, even though today is the 5th for us lol. Hope all is good over there.
the natural bridge is so beautiful but it looks like it is a little tricky getting there. and challenging, i am envious of your hiking ability!!
gorgeous natural images of the landscape today, i like the "purple" wildflowers!!
Cool shots of the narrow parts of the trail!
That's quite the trail! Wow.
