Welcome to Saturday's Critters!
If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. Link up your post and share your critters, join in with my critter party ! You can share any kind of critters the real ones, pretend ones, statues and paintings, a new or old post!
Here are some of my back yard birds, butterflies and critters.
The Ruby-throated Hummingbirds have found some place to perch in the nearby blueberry bushes which are really close to their feeders.
The neighborhood squirrels are well fed here, I stopped using the thistle sock because the darn squrrels would chew a hole in them and the seed would just fall out. I started buying the thistle seed and put in a small feeder and you can see the squirrel made himself at home on the feeder.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies and hummers. I hope to see the hummingbirds down here fairly soon. We had no squirrels at all when we moved here, as the subdivision was only 2 years old and the trees were all small. Now they are everywhere and enjoying a bumper crop of acorns.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos, the butterflies are beautiful. I love the photo of the hummingbirddrinking and that greedy squirrel!
ReplyDeleteHello Eileen, your hummingbirds are beautiful. As always I love the butterfly images. I have never even seen a Black Swallowtail. Thanks for sharing and thanks for hosting this meme. I think I may be back to posting regularly now. Have a great Saturday. Jo
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that we can seriously contemplate going to Mars but we cannot construct a seed dispenser that can defeat the ingenuity of a squirrel!

I enjoy watching the hummingbirds. You got some great shots. Love the butterflies. I've been trying to get a few pics myself, but none turned out as good as yours. My favorite is the squirrel. Made me laugh. They always find a way! Happy Saturday and thanks for hosting.

ReplyDeleteEileen, squirrels certainly can are ferocious eaters. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove you 🌸
ReplyDeleteOh that chunky little squirrel eating up all the seed. They can be greedy-gobs!
ReplyDeleteYou don't have to travel far to see many beautiful critters, Eileen!
ReplyDeleteyou might want to get a larger sized feeder, in order for the big bushy tail intruder to 'fit in' better.. the hummers are soooo beautiful... I did not know they sit still until my friend Pat sent me a pic he took this past week, it was sitting on a branch. like yours.... lovely photos
ReplyDeleteSuper butterflies Eileen. That Black Swallowtail is especially very beautiful. What a treat to see that in your garden. This year is really poor for butterflies over here, despite the hot summmer. There's something not right about the lack of insects. Have a great weekend and thanks for the links today.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great time of the year for butterflies.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular capture on the butterflies and hummingbirds! Just wonderful light and colors on the butterflies and glad u come up with a feeder for squirrels..
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend Eileen
Good morning Eileen, hope you're having a wonderful weekend. You caught a hilarious shot of squirrels and their strong willed ways of getting every last bite of food! Great butterflies too, they seem to really be flying around more than all summer. WE saw a great abundance of them at the Minnesota Zoo this last week, unbelievable better than I've ever seen there too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies, and the squirrel made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos of the Hummingbirds!
Have a great weekend!
Given a bit of time, a squirrel is always going to figure out a way to defeat 'squirrel proof' feeder systems.
ReplyDeleteamazing hummingbird macro shots!

ReplyDeleteLove all your butterflies and hummers :) Beautiful all of them.
Wow, very nice ! The first photo is a absolute favourite !
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful hummingbird pictures. Mine are few and far between these days. The feeders are attracting more wasps than birds so I'm not sure I'll leave them up much longer. Do you have that problem? - Margy
ReplyDeleteAwesome close ups...There is no winning up against a squirrel I've been trying for years too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I have enjoyed all of our hummers this season and will be sad to see them go!
