Welcome to Saturday's Critters!

If you love all God's creatures like I do and also like to blog about them and take critter photos this is where you can share your critter post. This week I am sharing more birds, butterflies and blooms from my yard.  The hot, humid and rainy days not best for any birding outings.

I am impressed with the array of butterflies you still have with you - Hardly saw any here in Scotland this year, but when down South earlier in summer, did spot quite a few. They are tricky to photograph though! YAM xx

  31. the yard appears to be very busy with lot's of colorful creatures!! you are lucky to have so many pretty visitors at home when it is too hot to go for a walk outdoors!!

the butterflies are such a treat and there have been so many this year. i am happy to be seeing so many here at home and also when i am out and about. even when we are out in the car, i see them flying everywhere, it always makes me smile!!

the same can be said for the hummingbirds this year, i am seeing so many. all of your pictures are beautiful!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. ooooh and you deck looks just like mine with all the broken seeds on it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. the dove and the cardinal make me fell happy when I look at it, the sunshine and shadows do also and love the flowing flowers

  34. Beautiful variety of critters! I have trouble telling the Spicebush from the Black Swallowtail. Some folks tell them apart right away by their behavior. I do not see the extra yellow/orange cell spot on the hindwing which is supposed to distinguish the Black Swallowtail, but this is very subtle. i give up!

  35. Mourning Doves are such peaceful birds.

  36. I always love seeing the butterflies!

  45. Beautiful pics, especially of our smaller friends, the butterflies and hummingbirds.

I hope you are having a blessed weekend.

  46. Always fun to have birds at the feeders! Soon our fall visitors will arrive it will be nice to see them....I've had 3 hummers fattening up for the trip South, and lots of brown headed nuthatches learning the ropes of how to get at the seed. They are here year round, so I assume the ones born and raised here on my land live out their entire lives here. Happy Weekend!

  47. Nice critter photos! I just posted cell phone pics from a visit to the animal shelter.

  54. Loving those butterfly shots! I think we may have seen the last of our hummingbirds this year. There was a feeding frenzy last week, and now there is no activity. It's always sad to see them go.

    Have a great week,
    Andrea

  55. I love the butterfly shots! I'm seeing more Monarchs this year than in previous ones, which is great, because there has been a lot of work to help them with the planting of milkweed. And I'm pretty sure that is a black-swallowtail.

Have a good week Eileen - summer is back for the week. Can you believe that it's almost Labor Day?

  61. You really have a spectacular yard for birds, I am looking for a new apartment and my test of interest is whether I find just one plain old sparrow in the area... I can't live without hearing the little birds sing! Love all your visitors!
