Thankful Thursday

Hello & Happy Thankful Thursday!

I am sharing some flowers and birds from my yard. Summer is going so quickly, we are even seeing some fall colors on a little bit of leaves around the neighborhood.

A Ruby-throated Humminbgbird outside my dining room window. Ignore white curtain on the left.

"A life without dreams is like a garden without flowers."

Love the hummers, I've been watching a family of 6 at the my flowers and feeders.

Buddleia, a surprise butterfly bush not far from our little pond.

Salvia and purple Bee Balm on the deck, attracts the hummers and butterflies. The bees like these flowers too.

"Every flower is  a soul, blossoming in nature."

On the other side is a pretty Lantana growing.

Blue sky day with an Eastern Kingbird.

I am thankful to see a family of Hummingbird in my yard, their nest must be close by.

I am thankful my hubby has a green thumb.

I am thankful for all your visits and comments.

Thank you Michelle for hosting Thankful Thursday

Your yard is a lovely sight! Reminded me of Grandmother's salvia. It is fun to see the tiny hummingbirds!

I need to replace my lantana. I don't do a good job cutting in back in the fall, and it tends to get gangly and die.

Your garden is looking lovely Eileen. SO different from your winter views! It always amazes me the huge difference between summer and winter in your part of the world. Enjoy the rest of your week and thank you again for visiting my blog this week.

My hummers also bring me great joy. I only have a feeder that I can watch from a couple of spots...and on the other side of my apt. there are Four-o'clocks which they may be attracted to. I can only see those flowers as I go in and out through my front door, so I don't have a place to observe them.

Beautiful flowers . .
Lush Bee Balm . . . wow!
A family of six . . . do they fly in together!?

How wonderful, Eileen, to have Hummingbirds coming to your home! I have only seem these lovely birds in captivity (e.g. the zoo). But we do get the occasional Hummingbird Hawkmoth, which are sometimes mistaken for the bird! Thank you for your kind comments on my Scottish holiday trip!

I had my annual hummer visit two days ago. I see a hummer just once a year...weird.

Your yard looks like a bit of a sanctuary, especially for humming birds. They are coming around here, too, so I need to get my feeder up, too.

Your garden still looks summery and colourful Eileen. We too have a buddleia, but unfortunately there are very few butterflies just yet. No hummers either! We should be so lucky.

That latana is amazing! Is it in a planter? I have some in one, but it's not nearly that large. I'm afraid, with the drought, I overwatered a begonia, and underwatered a petunia. I'm about to give them up! So defeated. too much pressure. sigh.
