Our World, My World

Happy Monday, enjoy your day! Have a great new week!

Tomorrow is Election Day in the USA. If you have not voted already, please go vote!

I have been enjoying the winter birds showing up in my yard and neighborhood.  The Red-breasted Nuthatch is a favorite, maybe this winter will be an irruption year with all kinds of migrants showing up.  I would be happy to see the Pine Siskins, Evening Grosbeak and maybe even a Redpoll. But for now, I will enjoy what is in my yard and at my feeders.

One of my winter birds, the White-throated Sparrow.

Some pretty yellow fall colors out our kitchen window.

The Red-breasted Nuthatch is being seen daily now.

November 2nd we had a clematis bloom.

The Purple Finch, has a pretty raspberry color.

Some pretty colors on the side yard. The red maples are looking beautiful.

The female Red-bellied Woodpecker.

The male Cardinal and on the other side is the Red-breasted Nuthatch.

A Chipping Sparrow was still hanging around, they are a summer bird for me.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Thanks to Angie the new host of  Mosaic Monday
Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to both of the hosts today. Enjoy your day and new week.

As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

  7. You may get your wish for a bumper crop of winter finishes this year, Eileen. The reports that I have seen indicate that the seed crop in the north woods is poor so birds will have to move south to feed. Friends already have Pine Siskins, but I have not had them yet. But they live close to a park with substantial coniferous plantings and that may make the difference.

  30. Love seeing all of your birdies.... We don't have Purple Finches here much--but we have the House Finches. We have the White-breasted Nuthatches --but not the Red-breasted ones. They are so pretty.

I've been keeping an eye on our Bluebirds... They keep going in and out of the nestbox.... I hope they don't have babies in there NOW.... I know we've had a very warm Fall --but???????

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  38. Fabulous yard birds! I'm seeing a few more here at our new home, but nothing like what you have. (Or even what we used to have when we owned our home here in our previous life -- but i guess it is a fair tradeoff for the travels.)

  44. I love it when my favorite birds come back for the season. The Cardinals arrived yesterday. We also had fun watching one little Chipmunk eating seeds that had fallen on the ground amongst 5 Mourning Doves and neither of them cared the other was there. Such a peaceful group. We are getting out to vote tomorrow courtesy of our grandson who just got his licence this summer. Since Mike has his arm in a brace from shoulder surgery and I hurt my right hip we had to enlist Jacob's services. He will also be driving me to the doctor for some adjusting of this hip to put me back in commission. I am so grateful for my grandson. I hope you have a great week.

  45. So many cute birds are coming.. I've never seen a cardinal..Only I've seen them in photos..

  46. Eileen - thanks so much for the shout out in your post - I am honored and humbled. I gratefully thank you for linking up to MM.

I guess that Clematis is a little confused, but I would welcome purple in my garden at this time of year!

And I am getting zero birds at my feeders these days - I assume there is still too much food around since I saw loads of chickadees, cross-bills, house finches and a few white-crowned sparrows plucking seeds from the larch trees today.
