Our World, My World

Hello and Happy Monday!

Officially Veterans Day is Nov 11th, but today is the day workers in the USA celebrate Veterans Day. I am thankful to all those who serve.

We were happy to watch our son's dogs Nibbles and Chewy for a long weekend. I think they had a little doggie vacation too.  We took them for walks on the fire road once or twice a day. This walk is about 1 mile round trip from our house. We have many fire roads around our neighborhood for walking, at this time of the year we have to watch out for the deer hunters.

Grand-dogs Nibbles on the left and Chewy on the right go for a walk.

Below some various images of the sky, the woods next to our house and the grand-dogs.

The mosaic below shows some of the red maple trees along the driveway this fall and the rhododendron and the window where the Screech Owl likes to sit.  As of 11/09/18 I have still heard and seen this owl in our front yard.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope you enjoyed my post and photos.

Thanks to Angie the new host of  Mosaic Monday
Thanks to the hosting team of Our World Tuesday!
I hope to see you there. Thanks to the host today. Enjoy your day and new week.

As always I thank you for stopping by and as always I appreciate your comments.

  3. You know, one of the great things about visiting Costa Rica is that there is no army, and not this constant remembrance of war, waging of war, celebration of war and the near deification of people who happen to join the military as a career. It is refreshing.

  4. Hello Eileen,

Your grand-dogs are so beautiful. I love the moon shot.
The rhododendron are huge, and I can imagine the owl likes it to hide in.

    Happy Monday!

  7. Beautiful territory in your world today -- all those downed leaves! Aren't you glad you don't have to rake them all? Bet the dogs had as much fun as you did!

  10. Hi Eileen...I can't decide which one is Nibbles, and which Chewy...so I'm guessing the little one might be Nibbles. They are real sweethearts!

  11. ...a wonderful path to follow.

  12. Your fall colors are so pretty even the pups look like they enjoy the beauty. To have a neat place to walk is such a joy--here corn fields. Coloraodans are planting more red maples, but still we don't have the dense forest that you have. This is really pretty post.

  15. Walking dogs once or twice a day along such a lovely path is good exercise both for mind and body. The cracking sound of fallen leaves under your feet would be comfortable to hear. The moon shot is beautiful.

  22. Laughed traveling yesterday and forgetting I left my dog. I started to pull off at an area I can let them rove a bit off leash

  23. I was surprised you don't have orange scarfs on those pooches and a hat or vest on yourself. My friend where I used to work had her dog killed by a hunter because he wasn't wearing orange (the dog, not the hunter). An easily preventable accident. Plus her dog was a large brown dog that in my opinion looked a lot like a doe from afar.

  25. Nibbles and Chewy look very happy Eileen. I'm thinking that like most grandparents, you spoil them and they know it. Take care with those shooters about. Have a great week.

  33. What a lovely path ... but a little disconcerting to think there is someone out there with an eye to shooting a deer. I'd definitely wear a non-deer color.
